The Pod is a New building with modern fittings but very essential! Located between third Ave and Lexington East. Rooms are tiny but they have got everything you need for a short stay in Manhattan! Anyways, once you are in NYC you aren't going to spend the whole day at the hotel, so who really cares about the size of... More

The hotel is very old and worn out. The room is tiny which is okay, but it's not too clean and shower is very uncomfortable. It also sprinkles water around the bathroom, so that the room is extremely humid. Staff are great. The bar on the top of the roof is useless, as you can't get there for dinner, cause... More

This was my first time staying at the Pod 39 even though I have stayed in the Pod 51 in the past. Both are great. The Pod 39 is a great budget hotel in a very expensive city, the rooms are tiny but who stays in their room while visiting new york anyway? The rooms are super CLEAN (I am... More

Loved the room but not happy at all that hotel guests don't get priority for the rooftop bar and restaurant. Stayed there 1 night after attending an event in the city. Just wanted to experience the rooftop bar but couldn't because there was a 2 hr wait. Then they stopped taking reservations for the bar!! Couldn't believe that a hotel... More

My daughter and I stayed in a bunk room on the 11th floor. It was adjacent to the lift but there was no noise from that which was a relief. The room was teeny tiny with limited storage space, but the beds very comfortable and a great shower. Sliding glass door to the bathroom didn't allow for much privacy but... More

Hi Mo1404, I'm very glad to hear that you and your daughter enjoyed your stay at the Pod 39 Hotel. Our rooms may be small, but like you said, they are comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. The glass door for the bathroom can be a little awkward for some, but you seemed to manage it well. It's good you also... More

This hotel is so amazing! My room was really clean and the bed was a good single-sized one, I had such a comfortable 2 nights sleep. The rooms are small there is no doubt about it, I was initially worried that I wouldn't be able to store all my stuff. I had been travelling for one month and this was... More

Why spend all that $$ for a place you might spend 10 hours in on an overnight. Nowhere is this more true than NYC and you're traveling solo. Perfect neighborhood. Friendly staff. Clean and priced right.

For reasons that are irrelevant to this review, I was stuck for a room in Manhattan. After frantically looking online, I chose Pod 39 for the price and location, assured of safety and cleanliness. I got to the property at about 10:00 PM and saw that it was bustling with crowds of smartly dressed 20/30 somethings. The reception I received... More

Hello texagie02, I remember talking to you when you arrived the other night, we discussed possibly knowing someone from the cruise line. Anyways, I am glad that you chose to stay with us. In the future, please feel free to call down if you're uncomfortable, I would have done whatever I could to get you into a room with a... More

Two night stay at the Pod at 39th and Lexington was excellent. My stay coincided with a heat wave, so the fully-functioning AC was much appreciated as was the ceiling shower that packed very high pressure. Advice would be to get a room above the 6th floor if you desire relative quiet - there is a very popular taco restaurant/bar... More

Hello Irish_1958_50, Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Pod 39 Hotel. I'm glad you had a good time during your stay. The climate control in each room is perfect for everyone to find their own comfort zone. As for the restaurant and bar in the lobby area, once you're up on the room floors, even the... More

I stayed at the Pod 39 with my daughter for a weekend visit to NYC. We had a bunk bed room. Fortunately, she took the top bunk! The room was small but very comfortable and efficient. Small bathroom, but a good shower. The rooftop bar run by Salvation Taco was great! Wonderful view from the rooftop. The hotel is in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
