I really enjoyed my stay @ the brownstone. Its an excellent value for the price and very clean. It was cozy and comfortable. My only issue was parking , there WASNT ANY fro 4 blocks also received 2 tickets in 2 days for 2 different reasons (one because I wasn't close enough to side walk) I wouldn't recommend taking your... Excellent reception from Mr. John, but the owner showed too much worried about cash issues, too much inflexible with time check. Definitely not a luxury installation but very safe, equipped and well located.

This was our first trip to NYC in many, many years. We booked 102Brownstone on recommendation of a relative who had recently stayed there. We stayed 5 nights in the "Chalet" room. John was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and provided info on local restaurants, entertainment, directions to the subway, etc. There is a lot to like about... More

Nice place. Location is 2 streets away from the subway station. This place is a guesthouse with one to two rooms on each floor. There is no common area. You have your private room, which has a small bathroom, mini-fridge and microwave. There is no 'front desk', only someone who is the caretaker of the guesthouse. This can be problematic... More

Our fitted mattress sheet had holes in it and was so thin you could see through it......AWFUL The shower had mold on the door tracking and mildew on the caulking in the corner. The door was partially off the tracking and did not close properly...AWFUL! The base of the shower is in dire need of repair and re-caulking.... Looks TERRIBLE!... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the guesthouse. We received a warm welcome from Johnny, then it was as if we had our own studio apartment for a few days. The bed was comfortable and the room well set-up for us to enjoy a few days in the city. The decor suited this heritage building making it a... More

I went to the 102 brownstone with my mom and dad. We came late from the airport but the girl that welcomed us to our room( supposedly johns partner) was fine with it. We were very comfortable and they didn't mind that much that we were a bit loud for our Halloween party . Definitely going back this year (... More

Good location close to 116th street subway station. Nice welcoming by John. Nice and clean. 5 min walk to Central Park. A little more heat in the room wouldn´t hurt. Never got the Wi-Fi to work though...
