My 18-year-old daughter & I stayed here during the time of the year when hotel prices in NYC are the highest (December 26-January 1). Even Saint Marks Hotel quoted their regular rates but added $50 for New Year's Eve night. But even so, the total cost for the week was way under any other hotel I researched ($1250). By the... More

But here goes anyway: This is the only place I like to stay in NYC. I "discovered" it the very first time I went to New York and didn't realize what a steal it was. I went back a few months later and it was booked up and only then did I realize how much I love the location and... More

My best friend and I stayed here for our 25th birthday. We were on New York a week and stayed here for 4 days, the staff were lovely, helped us with our bags, and humoured our English accents, slight drunken behaviour, hang overs in the morning, they helped with taxi's and cutting the arms off a top I wanted cutting.... The St. Marks Hotel is a small hotel located right in the East Village (next to the Trash and Vaudeville store for all you punk rockers). I traveled with my sister, cousin, mom, and aunt- all different ages. We visited the city for just a weekend (two nights) and quite enjoyed ourselves. The hotel rooms were much smaller than what... I just stayed a couple of nights here and it was fine. Great lively location, and the hotel was clean and modern. You get what you pay for so it's not a five star paradise, but it was the best deal I found and I would definitely stay there again. I asked about them being closed recently for the fire... More

Reserved this hotel in early June on referral by a family member for stay from August 4th through the 8th. It was close to family and inexpensive but knew it wasn't top notch. Offered credit card to confirm reservation but told they don't take credit cards? Thought that was odd but... Called 2 weeks before my reservation and was told... More

We went to New York in june, 2008 and stayed at St Marks for two weeks. the neighborhood was quite good. Subway station, restaurants and little markets. The hotel is a bad idea. Noisy place with a pub around. The rooms are small, there's no lift, just endless bad stairs. We asked to change rooms because of the bad fried... More

This hotel is a big rip off. The hotel is closed since mai this year, but still accept bookings. The the hotel is closed due to fire department problems. So you book it, then you arrive there as nobody would let you know. They have booked already a new hotel for you which is worse than that one and cheaper... More
