If you want to be in the middle of the theater district in new York, the St. James is a great hotel for that. Just a half block from Times Square. The rooms are basically for sleeping, not lounging around, but if you are in New York you don't have time to lounge around. There is too much to see... More

It is a basic but clean hotel. The location is fantastic, right on Times Square. You can ask for a quieter room at the back or one on the front if you like the hustle and bustle. They have a concierge for booking trips and airport shuttle. The only complaint was the radiator made the room too hot, and there... More

Ok so after extensive research we chose the Hotel St James based on price and location. It turned out a great choice as you are literally a 2 minute walk to Times Square. If your going to New York you aren't going to be spending large amounts of time pampering yourself in your room, it's pretty basic but it's cheap... More

This is an old hotel, however, very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to just hang your hat for a few days while exploring New York, this might be a good place to stay. The bed was comfortable, but the rooms are very small. The only negative was that after our first... More

A centrally located hotel, an ideal base for exploring New York. Room was big enough for our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, just round the corner from Times Square. A little noisy on the first night but the air conditioning unit was removed from the 2nd night which had a big impact on the noise level.... More

We booked two double rooms from 10-13 October & on arrival were allocated rooms 901 & 1101. Prior to arrival we did ask for our rooms to be near to each other & if we were willing to wait we could have had rooms close to one another, but after travelling for 17 hours we didn't want any further delays... Only a short walk to Time Square. If you're looking for a really nice place to hang around and enjoy the amenities of the hotel then keep on looking. The rooms here have the bare necessities. If you're looking for a place to lay your head after a long day in the city and you don't need anything special then... More

The hotel is located perfectly, just off Time Squareand within walking distance to Bryant Park and Rockefeller Centre. I stayed here for a week with my mother and never had a problem. It's a bit dated, but clean and the room was spacious and free wifi! Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 5 nights in hotel with relatives and friends. We had total 3 rooms. The hotel location is great and it was clean but that was pretty much only good things about this hotel. Hotel is old and in pretty crappy condition. When nights were heating was not on! We had to sleep all our clothes on. Elevators we... More
