4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

What a great location, room size was more than I expected and beds comfortable. even though right in THeatre district,it was still quiet at night. Accessibility was awesome. Staff were so nice, funny and accomodating with directions, maps . We had asked for extra pillows before we arrived.... and voila! They were there! I would definitely stay there again, and... More

This was a great deal right in the heart of Time Square. Right next to 2 great market style places for breakfast, and a roof top patio featuring great local beer. Just a couple blocks from the theatres, and times square. Easy walk to rockefellar centre, hells kitchen, and the subways.

stayed here with my 17 year old daughter and loved it. front desk staff were super helpful, gave great recommendations and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only about 2 min walk from times sq, so very central!! great price for what you get. Will 100 percent be staying here again.

My husband and I came here for a three day stay on our honeymoon. The staff is very warm and welcoming, it was in a perfect location for us to go do everything we wanted to do (we saw a Broadway show, went to Ellis island, went to the museum of natural history, two games at the garden, so we were... A definite "secret" gem in the heart of Times Square. At 45th & Avenue of the Americas, just minutes from all the theatres. While the room could use some updating, it was VERY clean & comfortable plus on a cold winter's day, toasty warm. Staff was friendly & helpful. As everyone has said, it's a terrific location AND the price... More

The front desk clerk was very nice and very helpful. It was an older hotel with a lot of character. Elevators and stairways were small but not an issue. Did not serve food. Clean with a wonderful location. Great value and close to everything.

My friends and I stayed for 3 nights. The location is excellent! 5 mins walking to Time Square and same distance to Rockefeller Centre. We arrived early in the morning and were given the room right away, though the checkin time is supposed to be in the afternoon. Also, I was stuck in New York due to the bus cancellation... More

Me and my wife stayed for 8 nights in January and couldn´t have chosen a better place to sleep. True it´s small, old, one has to wait five minutes for the water to get hot and the view is horrible; but the location was perfect and the staff was very, very kind to us. As for the beds, they are... More

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel St. James February 5-6. Very easy to get to via subway. When we arrived, we were greeted by Joey. Just as I imagined, he was super friendly and made us feel like he really cared that we were staying at his hotel. Then, he surprised is with a upgraded room facing the street.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
