We recently celebrated a friend's 40th birthday in NYC and Hotel Gansevoort was our home base. Everything was top notch and the service was outstanding!!! A little pricey, but sooooo worth it. So much within walking distance regarding restaurants, shopping, and clubs. Plunge is fabulous and a great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail...intimate seating and great views.

This hotel offers glamour, luxury and makes you believe you are living a life worthy of appearing in Sex in the City! The staff are beautiful and cool but supremely helpful and approachable.

I stayed there for 3 nights over the summer during a business trip. The hotel was top notched on many levels! You cannot beat this location in NYC! It is right in the meatpacking district which is close to many great restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooftop was beautiful. My room was spacious by New... More

The hotel is modern with very spacious rooms and superb service for those who prefer high service and no problems and surprises. The only thing that surprised me was that I had to leave rather serious deposit to make sure I would be able to pay for any extras. And no breakfast included but as I understood it is common... My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at Hotel Gansevoort in MePa. Our room on the 8th floor was quite spacious by NYC standards, very clean, and not to close to the elevator (as I had requested when booking the room). A word of caution, there were waterbottles and energy drinks set out on the bedstand, and at first... More

We stayed at the Gansevoort for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We chose it as it's a 10 minute walk from my sister's apartment. I didn't hate the property as much as others but I definitely noticed imperfections. I would rate this hotel 3 1/2 stars if it were available. If I had paid $500 I would have been quite disappointed.... More

The Gansevoort name has meant great facility, and fabulous all the way around at Turks & Cacaos Islands & Miami until today's visit in the Meet Packing District. From the moment you walk through the front door and are greeted by an obscene paint of women flipping the bird near the elevator bank, to the smell of moth-balls on penthouse... More

Unfortunately I was here on business, but what a time I might have had if this were a leisure trip.It would have been great to go and enjoy the rooftop bar on Friday/Saturday night, but as it happened this was a noisy distraction when I needed to be working/sleeping. Spacious, tasteful room and comfortable bed (I slept great when there... More

My girlfriend and I stayed there this past weekend and couldn't have had a lovelier time. The staff was kind and gracious and the room was absolutely flawless. The location couldn't have been any better as we were right in the heart of the meatpacking district and rooftop bar/lounge was by far one of the coolest we've ever been to.... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
