Took my 3 year old to NYC for a couple days and decided to stay here after reading on a couple blogs that said it was a good hotel for people with kids. And, the blogs were right. It was a great spot. I've stayed at hotels that seem put out by small little ones. But, not here. The staff... More

We have just returned from a week in NYC and used the Gansevoort as our base. The hotel is nice - and we had a good sized room on the 10th Floor with a view over the Hudson. There is a pool / bar on the roof which would no doubt be wonderful in Summer - I tried the pool... More

About every year we visit Meat Packing for a business weekend and so far, only at the Gansevoort. Reason: very centrally located, right in the middle of all the best places to relax and unwind after a day of work. And this year we had another very good experience with nice rooms, very friendly service and the vibrant bar scene... More

Just back from a great few days in the Gansevoort and really had a fantastic time. We were there to celebrate an anniversary and my wife's birthday. The reception staff were excellent and we were given a double up grade and then a wonderful surprise of a bottle of champagne in the room. New York was freezing -11 wind chill... More

Took my GF for her birthday and we rented a room at the Chester. Night was great, room was spectacular and the staff overheard it was her birthday and Tiffany @ front desk pulled me aside and suggested some surprises, got us discounted spa services, some veuve and a late checkout that was perfect. Thanks Tiffany, you read my mind!

Clean and friendly. I was greeted by a warm friendly youthful staff. I had a comfy bed, the room size was perfect for a group of friends that came to watch a movie with me that night 5 of us in total and still room to breath!

The Gansevoort is a modern boutique hotel with a happening bar on the roof, and a fun lobby scene. My wife and I stayed here for my recent birthday. The GM left a nice note with a bottle of prosecco in our 9th floor room overlooking the meatpacking district. It was a quiet night in the hotel, at least it... More

I recommend the Ganse for anyone who likes the feel the NYC vibe. The lobby is a happening place at night as the locals come to enjoy house music and cocktails. Chelsea is by far one of the coolest areas of the city. There are several cool bars and clubs in the area as well as the Chelsea market around... More

We recently stayed here for four nights with my husband and son in October 2014. We really cannot rate the hotel highly enough. Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
