We have stayed here several times, and on each visit, we get even more attached to this place. Without exception, the staff is outstanding, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need, and the amenities are amazing. On this trip, Francesca (one of the managers) made us feel very welcome and ensured it was a perfect... More

I've now stayed at the Gansevoort Meatpacking 1/2 dozen times and each time the service is increasingly worse. For a hotel this expensive in a city with so many options, it's really an outrage that customer service like this -- or lack thereof -- is allowed to exist! I should caveat that the only reason I have continued to return... More

Great place to avoid the usual tourist traps. Well worth the effort, see some real New York and eat some great food. A little off the beaten track , our cab driver wasn't sure where it was, which rang alarm bells for us !!

I have been a regular customer at this hotel for a number of years. I have always been very satisfied, but this may have been my last stay there. On the second morning of my stay, the rooftop swimming pool was filthy. Filthy as in disgusting. Cigarette stubs, candy bar paper, other types of plastic, straws, batroom slippers (no kidding... Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here...2 days in late summer with time to enjoy the pool and neighborhood. Didn't get to try the spa or restaurant, but everything else was terrific. Pool was especially awesome...given that we had 2 85_ degree days.

A perfect place to stay in NYC. Close enough to the action and quite enough to roam the cobble streets at night seeking fine dining and clubbing. The hotel is very funky. The rooms are spacious and comfy with fab views of NYC. Walk the high line, shop, sight see, enjoy the great food and bars and meet super friendly... More

Just got back from a three night stay in NYC @ the Gansevoort Meatpacking. Arrived early and without any problems, we were given an upgrade of room (our booked room wasn't ready). Lovely hotel with so much charm! Not too big, I believe 14 floors, including the rooftop bar. Great views from the rooftop bar, you can see the Hudson... More

We were 6 nights in this hotel. Its a great location. the Meatpacking district is busling trendy with the most amazing restaurants. The rooftop bar and pool is just fantastic. Sunsets - sundowners so cool. When we arrived we had to wait for our rooms. One room was great and the other a disaster. Unfortunately upper floors the air conditioning... More

This hotel is superb and location is fantastic. Being a first timer to NYC the hotel staff were helpful and it was easy to get to where I wanted to go. Bar area was nice and the rooftop bar in the evening is the place to be. The rooms were large and comfortable. Top service.

I had such a great time at the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District. From the get go the staff were uber friendly and were able to help with anything and everything. The rooms were filled with delights that can make the guests stay fun and comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend staying here if you want something new, funky and... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
