Keep in mind we stayed here mid-week and mid-January, so our experience will be different. Our mid-week nights were quiet, even though we were on the third floor overlooking 9th Ave. The room was well appointed and, we felt, roomy for NY. There was a "bay" window that created a little bump out in the room and in there a... More

It's my second time here in the same hotel. I like much the area because it's so lively and comfortable in order to reach downtown or midtown. The room was big enough and nice. The breakfast was good. Generally speaking i like contemporary design hotel and furnitures so Gansevoort will always be one of my favourite choices, eventi if it's... More

Stayed at Gansevoort Meatpacking for 4 nights in January 2015. Fabulous rooms, service and people. Totally worth it and great location!!!!! They were really understanding when I had to cut my triip short due to the January 15 blizzard and were amazingly helpful. I will be coming back. Jo Topfer

Fun atmosphere. Rooftop bar/lounge is awesome. Rooms are a bit smaller than I expected, but they do the trick. Be sure to request a room on a higher level of the building, as the traffic/noise on 9th street is loud around 2-4 a.m. Overall good experience at the hotel. Great location if you are in NYC for good food as... More

The Gansevoort hotel and bar in the Meatpacking district was amazing! With their modern styled rooms and rooftop bar I would love to stay there again! Our group of eight girls were able to enjoy a night out in Manhattan. We loved the rooms even though they were a little small. At night we enjoyed the easy access to the... More

Very accommodating, reasonably priced, staff went out the way to make us comfortable...location is fantastic. Bar upstairs goes off..will be staying again..! Concierge is great, has good hook ups..only negative was the in-room charges not being cheap...but it's meatpacking in New York so shouldn't really expect different..

My husband and I stayed overnight as my birthday gift after hearing rave reviews about the hotel and rooftop venue. Check in process was not that great- waited for valet to acknowledge us and park our car- which took longer than it should have. Valet seemed to be more willing to help guest checking out with their boxes, dogs and... More

I stayed at Gansevoort Meatpack with my wife in the second weekend in January this year. I don't normally write reviews but felt obligated given the service I received from the Concierge desk. The team, (-Lorenzo, Monica, Patrick, Renee) looked after me royally with restaurant, show and basketball game bookings. If you are planning a trip, speak to them first... More

I was pleased with this hotel, the staff, the spacious comfy room and the rooftop deck. I liked that in the area there are quite a few restaurants so it was easy to find places to eat (try the restaurant "Catch" nearby this hotel). The hotel restaurant also has good food if you don't wish to leave. I was underwhelmed... More

Dear Drosofila, Thank you for your kind review. We’re glad that you enjoyed your stay and could take in the beautiful view from our rooftop deck. What better than to come home to a cozy bed and comfy room after a day of New York City sight seeing? We apologize that you were underwhelmed by our breakfast options and would... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
