We stayed there for 3 nights, we had a nice room with king size bed. Location is a plus. The down side of our stay was the noice from outside until 3:00 am. If your plan is to relax this is NOT the place. The breakfast looked not that great. Good housekeeping and clean room.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We paid for a king bed room but were given a double. After about a half hour they found us a king room. It was next to the elevator and on the 8th floor. They have a roof top bar that blasts music until 3 am. We could here the music from where... More

Dear Dian14_3, We are glad you found our team to be welcoming and helpful! We appreciate your feedback about the rooftop and street noise. During the summer months, our rooftop becomes a lively scene, however you should have been able to get a good night's rest because our main priority is the comfort of our guests. Next time, our reservations... More

Stayed at the Gansevoort on May 11, 2015 in one of the hotel's suites. Upon checking in I called downstairs to advise them that the room was extremely hot. Was told someone would check on this but it never happened. I had the air on cool and down to 65 but room thermostats only moved from 78 to 76 after... More

the receptionists were at every time very friendly and helpful as would be the concierge. My room was nice, big enough and in total very pleasant. I am just not too sure if this really is a 5 star hotel. In the last 5* hotels I stayed water was always for free in the rooms. Not in the Gansevoort. In... More

I was in the NYC area for work and decided to stay for Art Frieze. I moved from Midtown to this hotel and I'm glad I did. I haven't spent anytime in the meatpacking district, nor have stayed at a Ganesvoort property and was pleasantly surprised. I loved how there were so many food options just a short walk away.... rooms were so small and bed too!! For 600.00 it was not worth it at all. They had products all around the room for sale. So tacky!! Would never stay there again! Drinks aT the roof top are 20.00 each. The room was not even that clean and it was very dark and dreary. I believe the bed was a... More

I reserved 4 rooms at the Gansevoort Meatpacking location to bring 16 friends into the city to celebrate my daughter's Sweet 16. They were so incredibly wonderful that they upgraded one of the rooms to the beautiful PENTHOUSE SUITE!!! They even helped to arrange a huge balloon display be set up in the room before we arrived. My daughter and... More

Stayed over Mothers Day weekend. Room very spacious; on the 7th floor and very quiet from street noise. Great location for West Village, Soho, shopping and restaurants. Roof Top Bar crowded, but expected.

As a travel writer, I had the pleasure of staying at this location 6 years ago when I wrote a large cover article for a print mag. I checked back in here to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom and sister and we had some concerns. We ordered a cheese plate and it was extremely sparse. The fruit plate was... More

This was our second stay at Gansevoort, which says a lot, as I am usually very picky in choosing a hotel in NYC. I absolutely love the location when you are with friends and the agenda is to shop, dine and wine! The rooms are quite spacious for NYC, but try to get a room on the Hudson side, as... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
