I had the displeasure of staying here with 2 of my friends. We were appalled at how dirty the toilets and showers. I asked if they would be cleaning them at any point but was met with the most rude and uncaring response from the staff. The only redeeming thing is the location and neighbourhood it's in.

Staff was friendly, the bathroom was clean, although the building needs repair, location was very good, we had a free bagel for breakfast, comfy beds and quiet surroundings... What could one ask for more? Thanks!

I definitely would not recommend this hostel. We heard loud talking outside all night, and the showers and bathrooms weren't recently sanitized. The location is close to a few of New York's major attractions, which is great, but it was hard to feel safe when our room door didn't shut properly. However, the worst part was being overcharged for our... More

For whatever reason US citizens need a valid us passport to stay here. The location of the hostel is pretty convenient for getting to the sites in manhattan, ny. And there were plenty of inexpensive eateries within walking distance. I booked a two bed shared dorm which was decent. By the way consider bringing a power strip there was only... More

This hostel is great not the best hostel I've stayed at but has everything you need. One of the few hostels that provides free breakfast and free pizza on Wednesdays. The rooms are very basic with just a locker a bed and a sink but its all you need as you spend the majority of your time out exploring. The... More

I've stayed here multiple times. Works every time. Rooms are basic and beds are reasonably good. Good hostel for a reasonable price. If you simply need a place to sleep, this is a good choice. Thanks again!

Open the room door that we had been assigned and the first thing that I thought was "i'm going to be sleeping in a prison cell". After dropping off bags we made a dash for the door and went to explore city. Upon returning the hostel didn't feel bad. The beds were comfy and the double rooms were the right... More

Book a 4-bedded room for 4 people and end up in separate rooms. Website is unclear and misleading, and speaking to staff over the phone is worse. Also, there is a prohibition on people under the age of 18.

Stayed here for one night. The location is perfect. Right off 8th Ave, you can walk up 3 blocks to 23rd and catch the A, C or E subways and go Uptown or Downtown. Only 3 stops from Port Authority Terminal which is right by Times Square. Check in is at 3, so when we arrived at noon - we... More

This is the only review I have ever written. I'm not one to complain but my god this place is not worth the money. Its very expensive for a hostel and you are paying for a prison bed...wifi works in one area that is it... No friendly atmosphere... People can just walk into the building as there is no code... Neighborhood Profile
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life.
