Just a few steps from Times Square, at 41st and right across the strees is 42st Subway Station. Its right in the middle of Manhattan so its easy to go North to Central Park and nearby attractions as the Museums also easy to go South to 9/11 Memorials and Staten Island Ferry. Its location makes it easy to move around... More

I was looking for a hostel near a subway station and near the center of Manhattan. The Equity fit the bill. Subway station right across the street, and on the southern tip of Times Square. The Equity is a hostel, but more like a hotel since each room has its own bathroom. The rooms are small. We were in a... More

We had a group of people staying in New York for a special event. This hostel was perfectly placed. Everything was basic but it was fine for a few days. We were in a quiet room but I did make a point of requesting that. Others said their rooms were noisy. Very good value if you want to really see... More

We booked the room well in advance for New Year believing it to be a hostel, upon arrival we found out it was part hotel, part hostel - a real US mongrel. The room was clean and tidy, but everything else was poor. If the business was anywhere else it would of ceased trading but due to its proximity of... More

We recently stayed here for 6 nights and it's exactly what we needed. We spent hardly no time at all here with all the sight seeing in New York. But what more do you need than a bed and shower. Ok so the rooms are on the small size but if your someone who doesn't like to sit around in... More

I recently stayed at Equity Point in New York with my boyfriend for five nights. We were advised by friends and family that all we needed was a bed and a bathroom because we would hardly spend anytime in the hotel. When we started looking for hotels, this was one of the cheapest so we booked a double room with... More

A big thank you to Carmen, Rachael, Matthew and Joe for making our stay in New York fantastic! Great value for Times Square. You won't get any closer! It is not fancy pants but if you are looking for an affordable place in the city, Equity Point is the one. My husband, son and I were there for 5 days... More

Stayed at this hotel for five nights in September. The location is very good, right next to Times Square, Port authority bus station and subway station. The room was big and quiet. It had a bunkbed and one single bed, all equally uncomfortable with plastic covered mattresses and uncomfortable fleece blankets. The carpet under the beds had obviously not been... More

It really depends what you want out of your New York hotel as to whether you should book here. The only real pro is the location, it is right in Times Square, just down a slightly quieter street. It is opposit Times Square 42nd street subway which has great lines. That's really where it ends. We had a private double... More

So was really thinking of changing our booking after so many complaints, but seriously this place is called Common Sense. Firstly - Don't think its a resort of a hotel chain, its simply budget accom, with bunks and a small bathroom, perfect for 2 people in a room, to sum it up whilst we where there a school group from... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
