We've found colonial house inn by accident - it just showed up in Google, was perfectly located and had reasonable price. But it turned out to be a gem. The place is very cosy, owners are extremely helpful, rooms are tiny but well equipped, you don't need anything else. During our visit it turned out that it's pretty famous with... More

Best location in Chelsea with rates that are remarkably low are only two reasons that keep guests returning. Add to that, CHI is always impeccably clean and offers free wifi and breakfast and you have a prefect recipe for perfect stay in the city.

Another super stay at the Colonial, "Congratulations on your 30th year" We love the summer nights on the rooftop deck, so special. Big Thanks to the staff especially Lilia, Tony & Adriano they are so helpful & kind, we wish we could stay longer.

Great comfortable stay, location is perfect for up and downtown Manhattan. The only issue I had was that the WiFi just kept dropping out especially when I needed it for pending correspondence. Manger was friendly and helpful but some of the other staff seemed bit disinterested.

Stayed here for almost a week - and can find little to recommend about it apart from the nice location in Chelsea. That's not enough to merit staying here tho - the whole place needs a serious lick of paint. Couldn't open the window (broken) in the so-called 'superior room' I stayed in, the window blind was also broken and... More

Although the rooms are quite small (Welcome to New York), the beds are comfortable and the bathroom spotless, with high water pressure and warm water. We had a shared bathroom but there was never a wait to use and I never saw anyone there so it was like having a private one. The location is great, it's within walking distance... More

The location is awesome and the hotel is super clean. Make sure you choose the room with bathroom if u prefer to have your own one. The room is a little small but it's in lower Manhattan, so nothing to complain. The hotel is really clean and the staffs are really polite. Definitely will book again if visit NYC in... More

Stayed here for 7 nights. Rooms are small but I only slept in my warm and cosy room. Its New York and the prices in branded hotels are high, so the money I saved went on me. I sat on the stoop some mornings in the sun and watched New Yorkers do their thing, the breakfast is a standard continental... More

We were great fans of the now-closed Inn on 23rd, and so had to find a new hotel in our favorite part of NYC. As expected, our room as extremely small. We did request a room with in-room bath; other rooms share a toilet. The room and bath were very clean and well attended; the steep stairway not so much.... More

I stayed during the UN General Assembly week when NYC is normally fully booked. Tony is one great guy and was able to sort out my payment challenges. The breakfast is same every morning but you have a lot of stuff to choose from. I did 8 nights and I was not that bored. The E Train runs from JFK... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
