We just returned from a very enjoyable 4-day stay at the Colonial House Inn. There were 4 members in our group (1 teenager, 1 young adult), and the Garden Suite met our needs perfectly. Cleaned daily, the Garden Suite had a living room (with sofa bed & fireplace), refrigerator, separate bedroom w/king-size bed, and doors leading to your own private... more

This hotel/B&B is in a charming brownstone in the hip neighborhood of Chelsea. It's very close to the subway and vibrant nightlife, but the street is quiet and feels residential. I stayed in a "Superior" room with a private bathroom. The room was small, but this was no surprise for NYC where rooms are no bigger than closets. The bed... more

i recently spent two nights at the colonial house inn on west 22nd street in chelsea. the first night i was in a wonderful suite, with full kitchen, living room with fireplace and just a lot of charm. the next night i was transferred to another room in the basement, which was 100 bucks cheaper, but in no way near... more

We spent 4 nights with our 3 children. We were in the West End Suite: we had 2 big rooms one bathroom and a kitchen. The suite was very convenient with the children, the one thing was the bathroom which was a little bit too small for 5. The location is perfect: the subway is just a few meters from... more

What a stunning gem of a hotel located on W22nd St. in delightful Chelsea. Tony (manager) and his team provide guests with a great space from which to enjoy this beautiful city. The garden suite is particularly stunning. Great breakfast offerings. Most highly recommended. more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Colonial House last October for 4 nights and thought it was just great! The rooms are small but clean and perfectly adequate - we were so busy sightseeing that we weren't in them much! Breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice. The best thing is the location - right in the heart of... more

A small, clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly place in a great area with just what you need when visiting NYC. Nothing fancy but certainly not drab or dreary. An adequate breakfast, again not fancy but there. Good strong coffee and decent tea made with water served from a vessel not previously used for coffee so a pure tea taste if that... more

We stayed for a week in room 10, on the first floor. Our room had an ensuite bathroom & toilet. Though it wasn't too big, it was well thought out and very clean. Plenty of room to put clothes & stuff away (closet, desk with drawers, 2 bedside drawers). The beds were excellent. We didn't always have thé hottest weather,... more

We have been visiting this inn for the past eight years and on every visit we have found them consistently excellent in the following areas 1. Location: In the heart of all the action in Chelsea and near transportation to areas outside Chelsea 2. Thrift: One of the best bargains in the city. 3: Cleanliness: The same maids have been... more

If you're looking to stay in the best location possible, green leafed avenues, trendy meatpacking, shopping and subway don the road, this is it. Service is great and housekeeping even better. Rooms are simple but functional bed comfy, bathrooms clean. Go for the bigger rooms because others are a bit too small for two grown ups! Only minus was the... more
