We booked our queen room on the hotel website. The room description said non-smoking, however, the fine print underneath said "non-smoking room available on request." I of course did not notice this tiny detail, tucked away at the bottom of the second page, buried underneath the other amenities of the room. Upon arriving to a smoke-smelling room, we immediate requested... More

Dear pmgrah: Thank you for posting your feedback on Tripadvisor! We are very surprised about your comments: when you make a reservation on the hotel’s website through Apple Core Hotels, all reservations for non-smoking rooms are guaranteed. We also don’t have the mention about “non-smoking rooms available on request” on our website or on our confirmation emails. In fact, our... More

I was very very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed 3 days at this hotel, the FIRST NIGHT we couldn't sleep AT ALL, there was a demolition truck across the street that did their job in the middle of the night (until around 3 AM in the morning). I spoke to the front desk the next morning, requesting to change... More

Dear melL2904: Thank you for posting your feedback about your stay at our hotel! We reviewed records of your stay and it seems that you were checked in a room with 2 beds overlooking 46th street on 8/16/10 for 3 nights. After the 1st night, you informed the front desk about the noise from outside. In order to alleviate your... More

My husband and I traveled to New York for the second time in one year. We love this city so much so we want to make sure everything is perfect. After going thru tripadvisor for the perfect hotel because the previous one was not available I stumbled upon this hotel and I read just about every review. Every employee that... More

On July 9th I book a room for 3 nights at The Hotel at Times Square. The booking was placed through hotel web site and I receive the email "CONFIRMING MY RESERVATION". On August 10th at 1am upon arrival I was told that my reservation was cancelled due to problems with my credit card. The hotel was full so, at... More

Dear Gid76: Thank you for your review! Like most hotels, we validate all credit cards after 3:00 pm on the day of arrival to ensure our inventory matches all genuine arrivals If the credit card is not valid, the booking is cancelled. Please understand that in order to “hold” rooms for all arriving guests we must book rooms with a... More

Excellent central location-less than 2 blocks from Times Square and Broadway, short walk (less than 10 min) to Rockefeller Center. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Recently renovated- everything was bright and clean. Nicely decorated room with modern furnishings. Definitely coming back!

We spent three nights in two rooms with five people in total, from April 12th to 15th. Staff at reception was rude. Breakfast in basement was something like survival of the fittest: fight for food and a free chair. Rooms are dark, smelly, small, and not very clean. It's all about the location of this hotel: fine, and the rate... More

Dear Gonzalo_de_Berceo, Thank you for your review! We are very disappointed to hear about your feedback as our staff is trained to be as helpful as possible and lots of other reviews on Tripadvisor can attest to their politeness. Our guests also love our complimentary breakfast with lots of healthy food to start your day. The rooms at our hotel... More

My daughter (age 20) and I travel to NYC for a girls weekend every summer. This was our first stay here but definitely will not be our last. You can't beat the price, the location, the service. Highly recommended!

Our stay at The Hotel in Times Square was great. This was our first stay in New York City and we thought about staying outside of New York and riding the train in each day. We were so glad we didn't. This hotel is located just blocks from Times Square and 5th Ave. We were only minutes away from the... More

I just spent 5 nights at this hotel and highly recommend it. I had a queen bedded room with more than ample space, although not huge.. The bathroom was nicely furnished with nice toiletries and a hair dryer. There was a good flat screen TV, a dresser with 3 drawers, a desk and office chair along with another padded chair... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
