I have stayed at a lot of different hotels in NYC over the passed 12 years. I only get a room to sleep in. This was a great choice for that. I could walk any where to get a bus or subway. The room was great for Sleeping, and nice size bath room. We faced the street and heard no... More

Wonderful hotel in a super convenient location. This is a small hotel, small rooms, big heart. While we only got one of the two rooms exactly as we booked, the staff went out of their way to help us switch rooms the next day. The rooms had a few quirks, tv didn't work easily and had to be re-programed every... More

Stayed for 3 nights with a friend in a decent sized room on the top floor overlooking East Houston. The room was perfectly acceptable and had two full sized double beds, which were very comfertable and extremely inviting after a long day sightseeing! The bathroom was small but useful, with all the essentials, although they may need to look at... More

We recently completed our 2 week trip to the USA, and our last hotel stay was @ GEM SOHO. Normally when u are told Boutique Hotel your expectations of everything drops. We were very pleasantly surprised, in the quality of the fixtures/fittings in the room. to the level of cleanliness, and to the friendly quality of the staff. It is... More

We were in NYC when hurricane Irene hit. The staff at the hotel could not have been more accommodating considering the unusual circumstances. You are truly treated like a guest-not a tourist. The location is perfect-Lower East Side and Soho at your footsteps and many near by subways. The rooms are a bit small but that is typical in this... More

We stayed 6 nights in this terrible hotel. We strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. There is no correlation between the description and nice photos presented at the hotel website and the actual hotel. We stayed with 4 kids. When making the reservation we specifically insisted to have 2 connected rooms. When arrived at night, we realized that we were allocated... More

Dear Gilklopmann, I am very sorry that you left The GEM SoHo still unsatisfied. We did everything we could to accomodate your request as during your second day, we gave you two rooms right next to each other. We in fact upgraded your second room. Again I sincerely apologize for your negative experience. Thank you. Kind Regards, Jaidev Gupte General... More

We did not expect much and we were aware that this is not the Ritz. We chose this hotel because of the rather cheap rates for NYC and booked it for one week. However, although the staff was very friendly, the hotel and its rooms are not very nice. We arrived on one of the hottest days in NYC end... More

Dear Jens K, It broke my heart when I read about your experience at The GEM Hotel SoHo. Your experience does not speak of the level of service that we provide for the thousands of guests that visit us every year. Given the opportunity, I would very much like to speak to you and come up with a solution. It... More

Stayed for 3 nights, the first night in a basement room which I did not care for without a window. My request the next morning to be moved upstairs was complied with and when I got back to my room that evening I had been given a nicely updated room overlooking Houston. Stayed there 2 nights and overall this is... More
