The location is what drew me to this hotel. Experiencing the lack of amenities and downright rude customer service is why I am writing this review. There are many other hotels in the Museum of Natural History area for similar prices. Don't waste your time and money on Park 79. There was visible mold in the shower stall in the... More

Worst hotel experience of my life! The short story is do not stay here; this place is a dump. Our room was the size of a closet, had awful smells (mixture of mildew and cigarettes) and the toilet wasn't working properly (I imagine mgmt knew this bc the bathroom came supplied with a plunger). There's no closet space, only a... More

This is the second time we've stayed at Park 79 and although the rooms are tiny and the bathrooms even tinier (in the rooms we've paid for) the location is out of this world. It is such a relief to get out of the city and head ot the upper west side just a block from central park! You truly... More

Clean, affordable and in a great location. I would highly recommend it to travelers that need a decent accommodation for a short stay in NY. The location is very convenient . Close to the hotel there are plenty of bars and restaurants and the hotel is only 5 min walk from the subway!

I was sort of dissapointed in the hotel, it looked different than the picture when i chose the room. The room is very tiny and I bumped my toes against everything, The cleaning staff walked into the room without knocking, to her defense though, the door was not completely pushed in all the way but it was closed, still a... Well I can't say I'm happy about writing this review as I had good expectations for this hotel prior to my stay...But I guess, this is what I get for booking a hotel last minute for an impromptu trip on a budget. I have been many time to NYC (this being my 7th or 8th time) and my second time... More

Friendly staff, 1-2 blocks to lots of good restaurants, one block to Central Park, and the Natural History Museum. xxxxx We took taxi from jfk for about $55 plus tip. Four adults and log luggage included.

I love this place. It is cosmopolitan, it is european. Not sleek, but unique, clean, friendly. I have stayed before, and will stay again. It is convenient to several subways, the crosstown bus, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of the City of New York, many small boutique-like restaurants and has lovely gardens to relax in nearby.
