4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My wife and I were in NYC for 3 nights (just left yesterday) and targeted the Upper West Side for accommodations, but didn't want to break the bank. The Park 79 was ideal. I'd give the hotel itself 3 stars, but it's location just off of Central Park and 2 blocks from the 1 subway line gave it another star... More

Very well located, just a few steps from Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, this small Hotel is perfect for young couples. Just a room for you to get back, take a shower and hit the NYC streets. Staff are very helpful and friendly. There are a number of coffee shops nearby and the subway is just a... More

The Hotel is ok. Very small rooms but comfortable. Close to the One Train. A few Bars and restaurants are in walking distance. The bad part about this Hotel is it's 11 AM checkout time. Every other hotel in that Area has a 12:00 PM Checkout. I would stay here more if they change the checkout time. 11 AM is... More

Staff friendly, rooms clean, small bathroom. Down size your toiletries. Great shower. Entrance needs handrail. No disabled entrance. However staff helps those who need it. Great place to stay if all you need is a bed and bath. Biggest bang for that kind of buck.

For New Yorkers who have been relocated and need to feel they are back home, the Park 79 is a great place to stay. It's location on the upper West Side two blocks from the subway, behind the Museum of Natural History and near lots of restaurants makes it an ideal place to get "home" to in the evening when... so this was a priceline special for St. Patricks day. Let me start off by saying for the age of the hotel it was in great condition, much better than hotel Pennsylvania. the room was your typical NYC cubby hole, but i was expecting so. The bed was nice and soft. The main issue with this room is the shower/water.... More

We arrived Friday afternoon and the door of the hotel was opened for us and we were greeted by Robert. He is very professional and has a great personality for your hotel. We needed ice and quick response to that. Room was very clean and very comfortable. I would tell any of my friends and family about this hidden treasure... More

My wife and I stayed at Park 79 for one night to attend a concert at the near beacon theater. The staff was courteous, the room was small but good for what we needed. Maybe a little too hot but clean. The location and the price are great, I think it's a good deal.

Concerning the bed/mattress, we continually try to replace mattresses, asking guests to let us know which room was used and had a complaint. But all else seems to have been satisfactory--thank you! This hotel is located in a centralized area of New York with a subway stop within two blocks. I stayed in the Junior Suite of this hotel; it was much smaller than I expected but it was sufficient if you are just visiting the sites and need the room to sleep and shower. My family had a great time, but... More
