The price, location and design was great but lacked on some easy details that would make the hotel excellent. - the male front desk staff was not service oriented. There was one lady in the evening that was great. - the hallways/public space always seemed messy. Cushions thrown on the ground, bean bags in the hallways. - always was cleaners... More

The Out is a great location for the theater district and Hell's Kitchen plus it has a very attractive interior design. Those are the good things. The front desk staff was inattentive, they preferred to talk to each other and did not offer any information about the hotel. Just checked me in and sent me on my way. It was... More

Stayed there during my business trip to US. It was clean and has good ambiance. Trendy design and we all liked it. Offered a great price for a stay in Manhattan area. Times Square is within walking distance and cab drive had no problem finding this hotel.

When The OUT first opened it was hailed as the fun spa hotel for LGBT Travelers. Maybe that's too limited a population, which is surprising. Now the place seems to be full of international visitors, gay-straight, etc., which is to say it's almost like every other boutique hotel in Manhattan. Still, I arrived very early after an overnight flight and... More

I've been to a few places in NYC and there's always a compromise on something unless you pay through the roof. On balance, this was above average I'd say with the compromise being the noise of the music in the outdoor areas and the noisy aircon units. One word of caution, I was mad that they recommended the airport transfer... More

Booked 2 rooms for 3 nights stay, following the good pictures of their site and position close to Times square. I regret I did not read any Tripadvisor's suggestions previously. Building is very trendy. The room we got was large and clean. Problem was that our rooms were above a club that was playing loud music till very late. By... More

The hotel itself and the room (double room with kingsize bed) were great. But the noise really was not bearable at all. We stayed there from Friday to Sunday and both on Friday night and Saturday night, there was an unbearable noise from the hotel itself. There was a barbecue party and I kindly asked the staff to turn the... More

I have visited my friend who used to stay in this hotel. They have really a bug lobby compared with a very small room where you can only have place to fit one bag only. Even the locker they made it inside the toilet which is really weird. The only good thing is location near the times square.

Amazing hotel, impeccable service, outstanding rooms...I could go on and on. Having stayed at this hotel since it's opening, some could say I'm biased, but the team clearly loves what they do and guests are certainly put first. The spacious rooms & sleek design aren't what you'd expect (or usually receive) for a hotel room in Manhattan. The hotel's customer... More

I can't say I loved The Out. Partially due to the $400 a night. Yes it was around new year so i expected price to be high, but I did not find the hotel good value. Beside it did not seem full either. First of all, it might feel like a resort in spring and summer with lots of outdoor... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
