It is at a perfect place, close to everything, the stuff is really very friendly and helpful, doesn't matter if at reception, restaurant, bar or the cleaning personnel. The rooms are really clean and I love the soap with lavender. The bath also has a really good body lotion and in the shower you find body wash, shampoo and conditioner.... More

This is a really nice hotel. It's very chic and great value for money. The location couldn't really be better. It seems most of the things we wanted to do in New York were located within walking distance from W 42nd St, so this was very convenient. It also happens to be one block away from 9th Avenue, which has... More

I could not sleep because of the loud bar music. Unbelievable loud. The did finally move me on a their second night. But the building still vibrated. The restaurant was excellent on the other hand. And the service was great there. And the bellman helped me get passed a parading blocking the street for many blocks so I could get a... More

Highly edited, renovated property. The hotel is in Hell's Kitchen and features a nice restaurant, a number of courtyards, fitness center, sauna, massage room and a very nice indoor chilling area. Excellent value for the money paid, and the other guests were generally friendly. Customer service needs improvement!

(This review only covers the dorm rooms of Out NYC, not the higher ended regular hotel rooms in the same hotel.) Due to that I usually travel alone, it is better for my budget if I stay in a "dorm room" in a hostel. However, most of the hostels are quite noisy and have very little privacy. The Out NYC's... I love NYC, and love the fun of trying out new spots to stay around town (generally on the west side, as I'm typically there for business and our HQ is midtown west-ish). I was floored by the rate I got for The Out ($116) through our company travel program. For that price, it was a good spot but I... More

Though the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was so personable and fun! The location was perfect! The only food we tried was the cheesecake they left for us for our anniversary. What an amazing gesture! The cheesecake was quite good and it made me really want to try the... More

The price, location and design was great but lacked on some easy details that would make the hotel excellent. - the male front desk staff was not service oriented. There was one lady in the evening that was great. - the hallways/public space always seemed messy. Cushions thrown on the ground, bean bags in the hallways. - always was cleaners... More

The Out is a great location for the theater district and Hell's Kitchen plus it has a very attractive interior design. Those are the good things. The front desk staff was inattentive, they preferred to talk to each other and did not offer any information about the hotel. Just checked me in and sent me on my way. It was... More

Stayed there during my business trip to US. It was clean and has good ambiance. Trendy design and we all liked it. Offered a great price for a stay in Manhattan area. Times Square is within walking distance and cab drive had no problem finding this hotel.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
