Ok, I never wrote a review before, because I never needed to do. The place is gross, its disgusting!!!! - The bathrooms are dirty most of time; - The rooms are never cleaned; - The staff are terrible - And last, but not least: there are mice in the place!!! They came to my room and got into my luggage!!!!!!!... More

okay. where should I start? This is my first time writing any negative reviews of anything. Usually, I am very patient and try to be understanding. Being that said, I gave this hotel one month to return my call to refund my money (which I was not supposed to pay) and they NEVER called me back. When we arrived, there were... More

This place is a dump. No signage outside and the lobby is very substandard. There is a table and a few plastic chairs. No atmosphere at all. There is a terrible shortage of showers and toilets which are very messy due to over use. While I was there a notice was put on the main door by the fire department... More

Good: - location is good (2 min walk to bus stop, 15 min walk to subway) - staffs know NYC well - free continental breakfast - lobby is clean and well maintained Bad: - not very clean (i think my bed had fleas) (shower was small and ill-maintained) - not a lot of activities = bad atmosphere - they did... For this price and this location we didn't expect anything fancy - but this isn't even basic standard. It's really cold in there - the windows do not close and as it was a windy and rainy weekend in NYC, we felt really frozen. I was literally afraid to get up from under the duvet. The rooms are old, ugly,... More

There is no signboard in front of this hostel, indeed, a cheap charley places to stay..and it's NYC! 3blocks from Subway and 20meters from bus stop! This is my 1st experiences stay in worst hostel, dirty toilet, stuffy room with no air circulation, floors were dirty and never mopped, lots of bug bed.. I got itchy the day I came... More

Very cheap for the location! BUT staff was rude (no hi, just "your passports") dirty, dusty rooms, blood stained mattress, very noisy, cockroach spotted in lobby. Do understand was old place, but the cleanliness was very poor(dust, crumbles on sticky floor) and at least the girl behind the desk could be polite.

It seems like most of the negative reviews I've read for this place seem to be from people who didn't really know what to expect from a hostel. When I visit the city I only need somewhere to crash and stow my stuff. This place was just fine and it was in a great location. We were lucky enough to... More

Pretty Standard Hostel experience, not hotel quality so no one should go in expecting that. The attendants were all very nice and held our bags since we arrived before check in, and left after check out. I felt that our belongings were moderately safe… The rooms are nothing to write home about, not the cleanest, beds like are hard, but... More

3 of us friends stayed here on 19th july'14. They charged 180 dollars altogether which looked okay but proved a low value for money. No elevators, less cleanliness, no private washrooms, looked a bit old and creepy... however the staff was very friendly and helpful. it is located on the highline, with the hudson river bank park across the road.... Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
