What a fab place to stay. Rooms are lovely and clean and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in Tressi is the nicest person you could meet, so friendly and helpful. The work these guys have done to renovate the place is incredible and its so lovely inside. Tressi is happy to spend time to give you tips... More

Where do you really start, there is so much going for the heart of harlem. 1. The location is brilliant, about 15mins on the subway to Times Square 2. Forget the stereotype, Harlem is a safe district where the B&B is located. 3. The rooms have been restored to their original structure 4. The rooms are ample in size 5.... More

Good street in a regenerated part of Harlem; not sure I'd go much further north but this area was fine, even late at night. (When we spotted someone walking a little fluffy white dog in Marcus Garvey Park near midnight we realised that things had obviously changed over the years.) The gracious, helpful owner, Tressi, bent over backwards to make... More

We had a great time staying at the Heart of Harlem! Tressi made sure everyone felt welcome and looked after. Our room was beautiful (and enormous) and the breakfast was so worth getting up for at 8am. We also loved being in a residential area and really enjoyed exploring Harlem and it's restaurants.

After a busy day downtown return to the Heart of Harlem and recharge your batteries. This is a Home not a hotel and you are treated as family not a guest by Tressi your most wonderful hostess. I can only thoroughly recommend this place to everyone and anyone, I defy you not to fall in love with the Heart of... More

I stayed in this lovely home for four nights. The property was very clean and comfortable, Tressi was very kind to me and my fellow travelers, and we paid an exceptionally reasonable rate for our rooms. The location is conveniently close to the subway and buses. Tressi arranged for our car back to the airport, which made our trip even... More

The property was full of character and located in a pleasant street. It was conveniently located for both the subway and bus. The rooms were comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of choice.

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.
