I read the reviews after making (and paying) the reservation. As you will suppose, I spent the last 2 weeks before the trip depressed, and so scared that I couldn't sleep well. We arrived at 3pm, called the management, got our keys and our apartment (at 160 Bleecker) and were installed in 30 minutes. After what I was expecting, the... More

This is a copy of a feedback letter I sent to Morton Suites, at their own request (they must be masochists...) Dear Sirs, I am fairly sure that you don't read these feedbacks from your clients, as you probably know what to expect. Still and since you ask, I'll waste a few minutes writing to you. First of all I'd... More

We arrived expecting, from the posted photos on their website, a nice suite in the West Village. Instead we found an apartment building which was locked up tight, and a posted note with a series of phone numbers telling us to call. We did, and reached a doorman of another building, who had no record of our reservation. Eventually, he... More

It´s a budget suite not a hotel. Peaceful street with little traffic. Don´t expect any service you have to manage on your own hand. Exellent flat if you remember this, we will come back.

First, the good: This is a great, safe location in the West Village. Now, the bad: The other reviewer who said this place makes you pay up front because you'd leave otherwise hit it right on the head! -Cheap, flat pillows and a cheap, hard bed make for a terrible night's sleep. -You have no control over the heater/radiator. It... More

I stayed at the bleeker street hotel. It is a not a traditional hotel if that is what you want. It is not luxury either. However if I return to New york, I would stay there again. We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. There were four of us. The location is quiet. There are many full time people living... More

They charge you upfront because they know when you see the room you are going to turn around and leave. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! The Health Department needs to be called in. If you are allergic to mold this place will do you in. THEY HAVE NO HOUSEKEEPING, THEY WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR BED, THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE FRESH TOWELS.... More

Every aspect of this alleged hotel was terrible (mold on ceiling, no way to control heat, no extra blanket, no real phone, broken clock, broken remote...etc.). Don't be seduced by what seems to be a 'reasonable' price. This is not a hotel but antiquated rooms that are rented out. One has to go to another place 8 blocks away to... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
