This was a very old and musty smelling hotel. It was right in front of a cab auto repair shop which seem to be open 24 hours a day and you had to walk past a horse stall as you come from the convention center. I hope you have a lot of time because you have to wait for the... More

Very rude staff member harassed my customer telling him he couldn't have a bran muffin and OJ. He gained about $1 worth of breakfast items, but lost a customer for good. Also very noisy construction starts at like 6:30 AM. Hope you like waking up early!

Brian, Thank you for expressing your disappointment with us. I regret the unfortunate incident you are referring to, but fortunately I was present when our security guard approached the gentleman you were with. First let me make is clear that breakfast is complementary for hotel guests. When we approached your client, we had no idea he was a guest of... More

Room was very small, hairs on the comforter and nightstand, no parking on the premises - have to go next door ($47/day). Breakfast was just ok. The exterior is rough and the interior out dated. It is in walking distance to many things, 1/2 mile or less to shopping etc.

Clean hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but totally functional and soundproof. Nice free breakfast and a cozy lobby. So many terrific places to see and good spots to eat all within easy walking distance, Time Square, Grand Central, the theater district, Central Park, as well as the harbor. Overall great value and again terrific... More

Good location, near Lincoln Tunnel. Bit of a walk to subway station, but fine if not bad weather. Restaurants very limited within 1/2 mile. Parking expensive - $42/day and must pay a full day if staying 1 minute beyond 24 hours - no exceptions!! One elevator - slow. Breakfast was good. Had to request bar soap, shampoo.

George, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are on 38th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue. I think you might have walked half a mile in the wrong direction in search of dining options. If you had walked over to 9th Avenue (1 block east), you would have encountered dozens of restaurants up... More

it is not a "Time Square" hotel, but it offered everything we needed. Great location off the hustle and bustle. Close to Hudson River with some great walking/biking and food stops. Clean rooms, great FULL breakfast. Did not feel unsafe. Unique NY experience with 1$ late night pizza snack just down the block. Clean, full service pharmacy store one block... More

Ronda, Thanks for the kind and honest review. You are exactly right, we are not in Times Square but just a short distance away. I hate to outright trash a place that is trying as hard as these guys. So, if those three things are the extent of your requirements this is the place for you. But don't try to get any work done while your there. The circa 1980 wireless is almost as slow as the sole elevator (which broke down as I... More

Best Western along with other businesses in the area could be instrumental to try and help build up the area. It has it's sides however there are a lot of: parking lots, some litter, flea market, urinals, garage working all night fixing cars, besides all the restaurants and other attractions a bit further away.

Great location amazing staff my first pick whenever I travel to NYC. Reasonable rates great location a few blocks from Times Square. The staff is always great and helpful. The rooms are smaller but very clean and accommodating the beds are ultra comfortable.

You don't need an alarm. From 7 AM in the morning you can hear the noise of the construction site right across from the hotel. It is so noisy that it is even louder than your alarm. I have attached a photo taken from my room at 8:30 in the morning. The price is very reasonable. However the amenities and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
