This hotel was in a great location in Greenwich Village, right in the heart of things, easily accessible by subway and around the corner from tiny streets filled with independent cafes and restaurants. You definitely felt like you lived in NYC for a few nights, as you have your own doorcode to come in and out of the building. You... More

Hard to review this place. The room was extremely tiny but lovely and clean. The location was fanatastic with free street parking within blocks. Now that i know what to expect I would go again... BUT... before you book you HAVE TO KNOW - there is no check-in desk, no on-site staff, no SIGN outside or even an address. The... More

My daughter and I have travelled to NYC several times over the last year and this is the best value we have found. If you have never experienced NYC accomodations this place would definitely scare you off due to the wacky check in procedures and the drunk guy with a foreign accent who lets you in the door after phoning... Booked a three night stay in the Minetta through a travel website. Having read reviews of the place I decided to ring the phone number I was given on confirmation to suss out the situation as many people had said there was no office at the Minetta...you had to go to an office around the corner etc so wanted to... We have stayed at the Minetta twice (9 days in 2006 & 5 days in 2007) and are looking forward to the next visit. Arrived on July 3 and debated where to view fireworks on the 4th, if at all. After deciding to avoid the crowds, we put on our pajamas, grabbed a bottle of wine, cheese & crackers and... More

DON`T DON`T DON`T visit Menetta Suites. The Minetta suites is a horrible house with zero service. Our bed was fallen apart, the TV doesn`t work, there wasn`t a hook you could youse in the bathroom. There was no reaction from the administrator, when you call them, they don`t do enything. They had too learn about the europaen standard. Leif Machholdt.... More

despite reading the negative reviews we thought it would be ok...famous last words. Firstly they wanted to upgrade us to another building! on seeing the antiquated options we were eventually shown to Minetta Street where we had originally booked. The ground floor studio flat was very small but we had been advised of this. However it soon became apparent that... More

We had trouble with this place from the start. There was human stains on the duvet cover. Stains that were obviously deposited during some sort of sexual act. We had to move rooms. The next day we ran into a lady that had been locked out and the management would not answer the phone. I am fairly certain that this... More

My biggest problem with this place is that they could only charge the credit card my employer reserves rooms with and not my personal credit card. This creates a gigantic hassle when I do my weekly expense reports. This is 2008. Why can't they charge my card and not the one Tramex made the reservation with? When I checked in,... More

My review isn't so much for the Mini Suites of Minetta, as I didn't end up staying there, but more for the company that runs the apartments. I booked the Mini Suites through Opodo, but a few days before I was due to arrive (and only after I emailed the company a couple of times to find out where to... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
