Myself and my fiance (he was my boyfriend when we arrived in NY!) stayed here in January - I have only just got round to writing a review. We booked the hotel when the exchange rate was at its best but even though the money went up it was still the cheapest hotel I could find in the location. The... more

I was all fatigues & jet lagged when i reached directly from a 16 hours flight from New delhi to New York. Trust me, the sight of the hotel was welcomming! I just crashed out in the most comfortable bed which reminded me of home! The hotel has small comfortable rooms which were fully equipped with internet, mini bar &... more

I traveled with my wife and two daughters, 13 and 8, to NYC. This was our first trip as a family, on vacation, to NYC. The Red Roof Inn is very functional. The rooms are small by American standards. But what do you expect? It’s NYC. There are not many amenities - but if you want a lot of amenities,... more

Dear elcid89tn: We thank you for writing a review about your experience at our hotel! We are surprised to hear that you don't think our hotel offers a lot of amenities as guests can enjoy free continental breakfast, access to a fitness center, free call within the US, flat screen TVs, iHomes, in-room safes, and much more! As for the...

I stayed for 3 nights in the Red Roof in Manhattan and I am thrilled! It is really central in Manhattan (practicly in front of Empire State). The rooms and the building is really new, and furnitured perfectly well, even with free WiFi. The breakfast is pretty good even for europeans :) The price is also really reasonable and I... more

There are many things that I liked about my stay at this hotel during my NY trip. 1. Location!!!! What a fantastic location!! 3 or 4 mins away from two major subway stations. And I think its only 3 or 4 blocks away from Penn Station as well. Not to mention all the cool Korean restaurants in the surroundings....yummm~ I... more

The best thing about the Red Roof Inn Manhattan is it's location. It’s just under the Empire State Building, here attached the picture I took from my window (8th floor). The service and the rooms were ok - not sparkling or sophisticated but decent enough, and a great value considering it’s NYC and centrally located. We were pleasantly surprised. We... more

I made reservations online with Red Roof Inn in Manhattan. The hotel had superb location, right across the street from the Empire State building. Although a bit run down in general the hotel offered updated rooms, but the worse feature was the older elevators which took about 10 minutes to take you up 30 floors. http://www.joreviews.com/travel/new-york-city more

Dear jodmendez: Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we cannot agree with your comment that you found "the hotel to be a bit run down" as it is entirely inaccurate. The hotel has just undergone a multi-million dollar renovation that includes, among other things, the installation of brand new furniture, flat screen TVs, drapes and bed linen besides completely carpets...

This former office building on 32nd Street, just off Fifth Avenue, received a smart conversion into a hotel a few years ago and is being maintained very well by its owners, a small group of hotels in the vicinity, most of which are franchised by different chains. Especially after a confusing call with Red Roof Inn's phone reservationists, who couldn't... more

Dear Lit-traveler: Many thanks for your review! We indeed recently renovated our property and replaced the furniture resulting in a modern and comfortable look with a lot of nice amenities that our guests appreciate such as the flat screen TVs and the desks that you mentioned, but also free calls within the US amongst other! We use plush mattresses which...

This hotel is just too good to be true. But, it's true. It's brand new renovated from top to bottom. Everything is new. TV in the room was a flatscreen LCD widescreen, and we had a microwave and fridge which was great for travelling with children. Our only complaints about the facilites were that the hotel was underserviced with elevators.... more
