Several weeks ago I phoned this hotel directly to reserve two rooms, four nights for an upcoming business trip. At check-in they charged the CURRENT nightly rate ($13 more per room, per night than my confirmed reservation); claiming they never had the rate I had reserved . I have spoken with three different people without any satisfaction (I did not... More

The hotel is ideally located across from the Empire State Building, a couple of blocks from the subway and 5-6 blocks from Penn Station. All staff members were very polite, my room was much larger than expected (Rm 1005), the fridge and microwave worked, and there were ample plug-ins for electronics. In warmer weather the outdoor rooftop bar would have... More

Great location, right outside Herald Sq on "Korea Way", a 20 minute walk to Times Sq and the theaters and convenient to multiple subway lines. Reasonable price. Clean and well maintained throughout. Room was not spacious, but adequate; good-sized bathroom. Very comfy beds! OK continental breakfast (nice money and time saver), though the breakfast rooms get very busy in morning.... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the NYMA. It was near shopping, the empire state building, and just a few blocks from a subway station. I thought the room was a fine size, and everything was very clean. The continental breakfast wasn't very good, but you're in NY, go get breakfast from a street cart! It's true the elevator takes... More

Was charged for an overnight stay despite my flight being cancelled at midnight that evening on account of weather and being completely unable to comply with their cancellation policy even if I had wanted to. When attempting to speak with a manager to dispute this charge, I was unable to get anyone on the phone for greater than eight hours... More

Dear bob h, We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you faced with our staff. Our cancellation policy states that guests must cancel by 3PM the day prior to arrival. If reservations are not cancelled by then guests are faced with a no show charge for the first night. Many hotels have policies like this, even if there is bad weather.... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It was a perfect location for us. We even had a room with a view of the Empire State building right outside our window! We walked everywhere on our trip apart from going to get the ferry for the Statue of Liberty. There is a metro station just round the corner should... More

We were at nyma for six nights. The telephone would not charge. We could not use it. We had a technician look at it every day -- we were always told it was working. I stay in hotels ten to fifteen times a year and this is the first hotel that did not have phone service. To call home, I... More

Dear pinky14, Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for any telephone issues you experienced during your stay. We did check the phone and it was working properly. It was most likely not connected properly. We did send maintenance to resolve the issue. Again, we do apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you again at La... More

It is not the best hotel in NYC, but it´s a good value for money, the breakfast is not very good but the location makes the hotel highly recommended for tourist, walking distance to Empire State Building and Times Square, Madison Square Garden, also close to a couple of metro stations, so very well connected to any place. Our stay at NYMA was a good stay. The location is a decent location that is not far from everything. You're basically staying here for convenience period. The room we had, had no view at all.... just the bank next door. We were only in the room to drop off things and sleep. The Hotel is nicely renovated and clean.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
