friendly helpful considerate staff; calm and relaxed athmosphere; great location near Grand Central and NY Public Library / Bryant Park; I had a lovely breakfast every day with NYTimes, fresh coffee, bagels, fresh fruit salad, juice, porridge... great way to start the day; coming home at night always felt much better than in a faceless huge hotel; books add to... Most charming hotel in the perfect position in New York. Only a block away from Grand Central Station. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our stay included breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese every day which we enjoyed very much. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of our friends and family.

Great rooms good books. The best part was the lounge on second floor, complimentary wine and cheese from 5-8 and cookies and coffee at all other times. Very relaxing good friendly staff. Overall a great trip

There is nothing more the hotel staff could do beyond what they are doing now. Not only is the hotel in the perfect location and charming beyond belief but the staff is super friendly and the hotel is the cleanest I've ever experienced. Those beds are so comfortable! This was my third stay and I'll be back...

Third time's the charm! Actually, the first two times were great too. The Library Hotel really knows how to pay attention to the details. It's no wonder that they are consistently rated so high. Every single person on staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. My husband and I came back for business, and to celebrate my birthday. Wish we could... More

love the location - so close to Grand Central, yet on a quiet street. make sure as you walk down the street you look down on the side walk and read the literary quotes written in the pavement. walking distance to the hotel (obviously). love that they have books in the room! Room numbers are based on the dewy decimal... More

My second trip to the Library. I cannot think of a better hotel in New York given the value, staff, care and accommodations. I counted only six rooms per floor, so there is not a lot of foot traffic in the hallways. The rooms are like jewel boxes: everything is fitted perfectly. TV is small, but you're not in NYC... More

Overdue review but stayed here with my girlfriend in Winter 2014. Small, boutique hotel located essentially across the street from Grand Central Station so if you are taking a train into the city you won't have to carry your bags very far. The hotel is located on a small side street and we found it to be very quiet -... More

We stayed 7 nights in June to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and so glad we did. The location was spot on for us as its a block away from Grand Central for easy access for the subway etc and yet easy walking distance to the main midtown sites i.e. Times Square, Empire State Building. Even though it is in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
