This was our second visit to the hotel simply because we loved it the first time and couldn't imagine staying elsewhere. This time we stayed for our anniversary and when we arrived, a bottle of wine with a personal note was waiting for us in the room. The next day, after returning from a long day in the city, bed... My partner and myself recently spent a delightful week at the Library Hotel. Its location (at the junction of Madison and 41st street) really cannot be beaten in midtown; only 2 minutes walk away from Grand Central, and less than 10 minutes from Times Square and Empire State Building. The staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly, and were... More

This hotel is simply fantastic. Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful. In NYC staff everywhere are trained to switch on a smile and give you a "have a nice day" without any sense that they mean it. However, at this hotel they really buy into the mission of making your stay enjoyable. They are genuinely interested in what... More

We got married at New York City Hall and stayed at the Library Hotel for our 4 night stay in New York. Due to the nature of our trip we were looking to stay somewhere really special, and chose the Library Hotel over the bigger flagship New York hotels based on Trip Advisor reviews, and we were so glad that... We arrived at 4am (due to a delayed flight) and the welcome when we arrived was brilliant. All the staff are helpful and friendly. The room, although small, was quite sufficient for our needs and well appointed. The fact that there is a room on the 2nd floor where you can get free drinks and snacks and sit in comfort... More

This boutique hotel is exceptional. Given NYC's propensity to have tiny rooms, these rooms were excellent. from start to finish the process was was friendly and caring. What a wonderful surprise to have fresh flowers and complimentary prosecco waiting for us! Great city views, all the conveniences you could want including turn down service, Ipod sleep music, lovely breakfast and... More

Spacious rooms, complementary wine and appetizers, great location. Check. Check. Check. This classic hotel was my home base to explorer NYC from as well as a place to get caught up on work. The book theme is great and the second floor lounge provided a great place to get work done. The complimentary snacks, coffee, and wine helped. For full... More

Small boutique hotel with a big heart! Felt like family. The breakfast/wine and cheese/ snack room were well stocked and a really nice touch. Lots of personalized attention to make sure our needs were met. Beds ultra comfortable. Room small but superbly designed. Loved the library theme throughout. Only thing preventing me from coming back would be price. >$400/nt is... More

The Dewey Decimal Classification system at its best! We were looking for a nice NYC hotel that was convenient to transit and act as a good base camp for walking excursions. We have been to NYC a number of times and like staying in the midtown area. We found the Library Hotel after a bit of web searching. The Library... More

Judging by appearances you would never choose this hotel, but what a surprise when you walk in the door. This superb little boutique hotel on Madison Ave is a stroll to Times Square, Bryant Park, Broadway, Grand Central, great shopping and good restaurants (try Bergers Deli in 39th St for lunch). The staff could not be more friendly and obliging.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
