This updated review is long overdue ... but better late then never, right ? After reading the courteous response that The Library wrote to my original review below, I decided to give them another try. (My first time back, I was traveling with a friend - I truly was concerned about the doorman issue.) The rooms indeed have been refreshed,... More

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Library Hotel. This boutique hotel's intimate size and pleasantly quite midtown location - two blocks from the historic public library – provides convenience and comfort. The Library concept is beautifully executed – with themed floors and an abundance of books in every room. Rooms are elegantly appointed, comfortable and clean (although a standard... More

After a treasure hunt proposal which ended with breakfast at Tiffany's (and 3,500 miles of air travel in between), this was the perfect engagement hotel in NYC. It was intimate and carried surprising attention to detail. They had some very good free wine and cheese for late afternoons and some spectacular bagels for breakfast. It's also very centrally located, although... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in July 2014. We loved every moment of our 4 night stay. The Library hotel is tucked away just off Madison Avenue, and just a short distance from the New York Public Library. The location was perfect for getting around Manhattan, shopping, with a subway stop nearby and plenty of things within... More

It is whole-heartedly unacceptable how low quality the bed is for a hotel that charges of minimum of $350+ / night. You can feel the coils almost pressing through your skin. Each time one person turns over the whole mattress shakes. The staff characterize it as a firm mattress, I'd describe it more like a jagged rock on a seesaw.... More

I hesitate to write this review because I'd like to protect this gem from being too widely known, and from therefore being unavailable to us when we return to NYC. But I can truly say, this is the best hotel I have stayed at in New York City. I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels there over many years,... More

We had a fantastic stay at the Library Hotel in NYC. Staff were very helpful, the location is great, near everything that you need. We ate our breakfast in the roof bar each morning - great food choices and comfortable couches - good way to start the day. Wine and nibbles in the evening was a fantastic way to unwind... More

The location of the Library Hotel is perfect to visit the city. Its cleanliness and comfort as well as a great librarians team have helped us to enjoy our first staying in NYC like we never imagined. 100% happiness. We hope we come back again in winter, always to the Library Hotel in New York. Special thanks to Joel at... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this small hotel with its Dewey decimal room numbers and library theme. The staff was most friendly, the continental breakfast was good, the rooms were comfortable with their own set of reading material, the top floor lounge was a popular place for a drink or lite snacks. The breakfast lounge on the second floor... More

We stayed here for 5 nights while exploring the city and were satisfied in every way with this hotel. It was within walking distance of the theater district with easy access to subway stations. The room was very comfortable, great shower and lots of counter space in the bathroom. Bottled water was provided as a courtesy. The bed was very... More
