As we were unloading from our cab a departing guest, without prompting, said they'd been there a week and we would enjoy our stay, and we most certainly did! A small hotel, just what we were looking for. Our room was excellent and I guess for New York pretty spacious and certainly well furnished, the flowers were particularly appreciated by... More

The Library Hotel is my "GO TO" hotel whenever I visit New York. It is a charming, well run boutique hotel in a very convenient location. This hotel is not for the dedicated Marriott/Hilton type traveler, but if you want something different, with character and personal service, this is the hotel for you. The rooms and bathrooms, while not large... More

Lovely clean, comfortable boutique hotel with great central location and easy walking distance to Times Square and Broadway Theatre district. Lovely reading room with breakfast, snacks, all day tea/coffee and evening happy hour - all included in the package. A bit pricey - but so is everything in the big apple. Worth it! Many thanks to the fantastic friendly reception/concierge... More

Great place to stay. Hospitality and friendly atmosphere. Centrally located at 41st Street. Extraordinary service and complimentary breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Special thanks to Gabrielle. Highly recommended! I'll be back

The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We loved the Reading Room which had free breakfast, snacks and happy hour. The room was clean and quiet. Perfect location if you are coming into the city via Grand Central Station. We will definitely be staying there next time.

Found this place by chance and worth the money to stay here. Really central location, cool theme ( if you like books!), comfortable rooms each with a link to the Dewey Decimal system. Staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. Room was well equipped although small. Only fault was the size of the TV however books are... More

This is an excellent boutique hotel. The library theme is great fun for bibliophiles - we stayed in the Eastern Religions room. As has been said, the location is truly excellent for entertainment (we don't walk as fast as New Yorkers, so it was 12 minutes to Broadway) and for getting around the city (just a block or so to... This hotel is in a great location; the staff can not do too much to help you enhance your stay. Some of the rooms are small compared to hotels in the UK; but this is New York. We upgraded on arrival and had more than enough room. A thanks to all the staff for making our stay here a pleasurable... More

This was our second visit to the hotel simply because we loved it the first time and couldn't imagine staying elsewhere. This time we stayed for our anniversary and when we arrived, a bottle of wine with a personal note was waiting for us in the room. The next day, after returning from a long day in the city, bed... My partner and myself recently spent a delightful week at the Library Hotel. Its location (at the junction of Madison and 41st street) really cannot be beaten in midtown; only 2 minutes walk away from Grand Central, and less than 10 minutes from Times Square and Empire State Building. The staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly, and were... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
