The Library Hotel is a small hotel near the New York Public Library. We stayed one night for a weekend in the city. We arrived early to check our luggage and go to a museum and were encouraged to take advantage of the free continental breakfast. We were a little concerned about the parking although the recommended garage was a... More

I recently visited for four nights. The service was excellent. The continental breakfast is included, of good quality and covers all the basics. The complementary afternoon wine and cheese is an added bonus. The staff is conscientious. Would return.

A great venue from start to finish, very well located, fair value for money, great rooms and incredible staff. The wine evening is a nice touch, I would advise booking a suite as the petit room is small ( as the name suggests).

Really nice centrally located boutique hotel in New York City. The building is old and on th corner of Madison and 41st street 1 block away from the New York Public Library which is well worth a visit in itself. Each room has a theme (ours was music) and in the room are about 50 well chosen books on various... More

We booked a weekend stay at the Library Hotel for my fiancée's first visit to NYC. Absolutely delightful sums up our stay! From the friendly reception staff, to the quiet, comfortable, well appointed room, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The Reading Room was our favorite with breakfast service, daytime snacks, and evening proseco or wine with cheese, crackers &... More

The setup, theme and amenities of this hotel were superb. Very cozy, not commercialized. Clean, up to date. Wonderful. Will stay there as often as I can. Staff very accommodating and helpful and loved the reading room and services it provides.

This is the 4th year in a row we've held our Client Advisory Board meeting at this property - the rooftop setting is perfect for a business meeting and then transforms to a trendy bar at night. The rooms are a little small, but super-functional and with a ton of personality. The library theme - with each floor representing a... More

This is a very relaxed comfortable hotel. I was by myself so was able to book a small room at, by Manhattan standards, a reasonable price - $750 for three nights. The public rooms - the bar and the library are comfortable and relaxing places to be - just don't order a large malt whisky - a tumbler full and... More

What a gem of a hotel! The Library Hotel is cleverly and lovingly designed around a “library” theme. (Ex: the concierges refer to themselves as “librarians”, and do be sure to check out the adorable version of the “do not disturb/do disturb” signs that hang on room door handles!) Lots of lovely and unique touches in the rooms, which are... More

The Library Hotel was a lovely oasis in the midst of chaotic midtown Manhattan. The staff at the front desk were friendly and professional. My room was comfortable, cozy and quiet. The breakfast and the wine/cheese each afternoon (in a spacious, comfortable, quiet room) were very nice additions to the experience. I look forward to staying at the Library Hotel... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
