I've stayed at Union in april and I was delighted. We paid 860$ for 7 days, double room with breakfast. The room was clean and had everything you need for a vacation. The bathroom was over my expectations because it was, for my standards and for the price in Manhattan, quite spacious, with fresh towels every day. Our room was... more

Perfect in every way. Price and rooms are great for Manhatten, you could not as for more. I've stayed 3 times and would not hesitate to stay again. I do not need an elevator and will not mark the hotel down for not having one. If you want posh amenities then go somewhere else, don't book it and then moan... more

I stayed here during March '09. First impressions are the rooms are very small, but once you get past that, you realise you're located in the best spot in Manhattan (that is, if you're up for experiencing some of the 'real' NY and not the '96th and Madison' version. If you are on a trip to have fun, see sights... more

I stayed at the Union Square Inn in December for 2 weeks and I am surprised to read the bad review an earlier reviewer gave. My room was warm (although at times a bit too warm), clean, comfortable and had plenty of hot water. I didn't hear much street noise (surely you expect some in NYC though!). The walls aren't... more

The Union Square Inn met all the criteria I was looking for in a low budget place to stay for our one night visit to NY. The main room had plain decor but most important it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was quite nice with beautiful tiled walls and floor, and there was plenty of hot water. We had read... more

We stayed in NYC for 4 nights. Union Square Inn was what we needed. A clean room with the basic facilities, at a safe neighbourhood, close to subway station (L line), and private bathroom. Friendly staff, ready to help and answer all of our questions. All at a total price off around 160 USD (for the period we booked) Perfect.... more

As far as we were concerned, $150 per night (--$129 + tax--) was a total rip-off, even in NYC. Our "superior room" featured no elevator, no heat, no hot water, no clock, no rugs, no useful blanket except for the thinnest synthetic thing that would have worked last August. The window was taped shut and the blinds were broken--couldn't have... more

We liked the Union Square Inn. The location could not be better. It's on the lower East side and we could walk to everything. Pack light because there is no elevator and you have to carry your bags your self up the stairs. The room was basic and small but it was clean. By NYC standards the room was actually... more

The rooms were clean as was the bathroom. The rest looked a bit shabby. The room(s) could do with a bit of fresh paint and contracting a windowcleaner would be a good idea. Bring your earplugs with you, as NYC is a noisy town and the sound insulation of the hotel is poor. The location was good, with good transportation... more
