If you want an upscale trendy hotel with cool vibes this is the best. The rooms, lobby, and restaurant/ bars at the hotel are all unique and tastefully decorated. I called it "Alice in Wonderland chic." The staff couldn't have been sweeter. I loved everyone working there. I do feel like they were a little understaffed though. It was a... More

The Hudson worked nicely for a weekend trip to NYC. The hotel itself has a great, trendy feel and the lobby was frequently buzzing with activity. The standard room, like most NYC hotel rooms, is about the size of a postcard. But it was still nicely furnished with a queen bed. Aside from the minuscule bathroom, the only real issue... More

Rooms are on the small side (as expected) but very clean. I did notice some cracking in the tub and a piece of the floor missing. Otherwise my room was great, had a nice view of the terrace and the city. Central location walking distance from Times Square and Central Park and close to a lot of great restaurants in... More

Extremely lively and young environment. Bars are really good especially the outdoor terrace and classic Library bar. Self serve restaurant great for breakfast and lunch, but fantastically crowded with the "young crowd" in the evenings, a sort of disco-bar atmosphere. Rooms at standard level are very small, but function quite well. Not a space to spend much time in though.

The location is excellent, but in general there is an air of 'too cool for school' here - and sadly it doesn't live up to its own image. As I write from an incredibly tiny room at the Hudson after a night of very little sleep, I realise this will be a rather damning review, and that's incredibly unusual for... More

We booked this hotel for a long weekend in New York for a special celebration and were extremely disappointed by the whole experience. The rooms are in desperate need of updating, they were shabby, lacking in toiletries and towels (only 1 provided for two of us). The lock on the door was falling off and it took them 8 hours... If hip and chic are your governing criteria for hotels, this place is for you. If, however, high prices, tiny rooms, décor that resembles college dorms, furnishings that may look cool but are totally nonfunctional and loud throbbing music that wafts through the paper thin walls until 3am, then you will want to skip this hotel. Part of the fun... More

A little get away to NYC with the wife to enjoy the Big Apple, Shop for yarn and visit to 9/11 Memorial. We booked our hotel on Priceline and ended up with the Hudson Hotel. This hotel was very inviting as we entered it's ivy covered lobby. We were warmly welcomed and with speed checked in. Our room was a... More

The Hudson is well located and made our 4 day trip to New York a pleasure. The rooms are small, so get a "superior" room if your budget permits. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. It is expensive, but I guess that is to be expected in New York. We would stay there... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few days to start off our honeymoon. Neither of us had been to the States before and so we weren't sure what to expect from NYC hotels or the city itself. Our stay at the Hudson was pretty good, the hotel was clean and we were greeted by a lovely staff member... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
