I loved the place, roof top was neat. You aren't coming to NYC to hang out in your room , so it perfect for the traveler on a budget. Bathrooms are clean, staff was nice. Yes the cabins are small but , you are just sleeping there. I'll stay here again.

I had certain reservations about staying in a hostel, but The Bowery House turned out to be a terrific choice...particularly when it came to my budget. The cabins are cozy and (surprisingly) quiet. As someone who is a terribly light sleeper, noise is always a concern...but I didn't have any problems sleeping through the night here. The bathroom was exceptionally... More

As far as hostels go this place is uber cool. Yeah the rooms are small but it's incredibly clean and surprisingly quiet. Bathrooms/showers are close to the rooms and very clean. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. The staff here are so friendly and fun, on the right night the rooftop bar is great. I'm travelling solo and found... More

it's a hostel - take it or leave it. single "rooms" are cubicles containing a bed with basically no room for anything else. sound insulation is very poor (you hear people coughing) but they provide ear plugs just in case. the place is quite clean and the staff friendly; wifi works pretty well. male bathroom is at 3rd floor, female... I had a little trouble booking a room with my credit card (my own fault)so by the time I arrived there,my room had been given away. The superman at the desk sorted me out with a cabin which I loved. They are literally cabins and the beds are not designed for tall people but still had a good nights sleep.... More

Suitcase didnt fit on the floor of the room.. No space whatsoever! However, lovely lobby area & roof top, plus friendly staff and cool decor. Stayed by myself for 2 nights & then booked an extra night.

Staying in Nolita

Neighborhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
