When our history curbed by evil and self-protective intentions, we all be forced to experience to follow a tough course if only you are sensitive enough to other people. It's good to share a bathroom with a mediocre but well-mannered writer on his mission, but you only need to purchase at nearby Barnes & Noble your next year Large Professional... More

The hotel is very located and i have to say give an old school feel to what hotels have been in the past. If you every want to be close to the action and pay a rate which is fare then this is the place to travel too. Try and stay in a room which is as high as possible... More

The Chelsea was my home for two years, 1969-1971. My children sometimes stayed over in their own room. My daughter baby sat for the likes of Viva. Yes, it had cockroaches. All of New York does. And the bathroom for my room was down the hall. I had running water in a sink. A rating does not count because the... More

Right in the middle of Chelsea, price is OK, rooms are clean, staff is friendly. Good for NYC standards... Right in the middle of Chelsea, price is OK, rooms are clean, staff is friendly. Good for NYC standards...

I have stayed many times at the Chelsea Hotel and can only say that its always been a wonderful experience. The hotel is not new, its not shiny but its steeped in history and if you are bold enough you can wander the halls and find the room that Sid and Nancy occupied....Rooms are basic but clean and the vibe... Though a little run down, one stays in Chelsea hotel for its long history or art and rock and roll and central Manhatten position. Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Allen Ginsberg have all stayed in this hotel. 2001: a space Odyssey was written whilst Arthur C. Clarke was staying here. Crazy events have occured here, like the stabbing... More

The location is really good, you can basically walk to the Village, Meatpacking and 14th street. However the rooms and the service is really poor, but you stay here to be a part of the history of many rock legends like Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan.

I stayed here in a little room back in 2007. Kind of a last hurrah for a fading relationship. And what better place for such a thing than the Chelsea. Great location, ambiance oozing from every pore, a great experience. Fingers crossed for a refurb that honours the history of this grande dame....

The Chelsea is famous. What's cool about it is the stuff they don't tell you about a lot. Like there's real art on the walls, every floor and stairway in between. And there's art in the people who stay here. It says, you're free to experiment. Location is great, and it does help to know that Janis Joplin and Leonard... More

If it"s a "been there!" experience...you've kinda missed the boat. I stayed there in 1992 - just so I could say I had and it was a dump & the room was dirty and had cockroaches. It's certainly moved on from that. The art is a highlight and the wooden gothic feel is always welcome to me but if it's... More
