5-10 minutes from Times Sq.,theaters, shopping, restaurants and still in a friendly, quiet neighborhood. Rooms and gathering area were pleasant and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was a basic continental in front of a cozy fire.

Until now, for us it's always been major brand corporate hotels in or around Times Square. Never again! I usually do all the planning, but this time round my wife found 414 on TripAdvisor, and said "That's it - that's where we're staying". After a week there, I now know that after 26 years I can finally trust her judgement... More

I will admit we were concerned that this was not going to be for us. We were wrong. You won't meet nicer hosts. Better than concierges at five star hotels, they had us at good local dining choices, found deals on some entertainment, suggested great lesser known attractions, fed us wine and cheese at happy hour each day, and made... Why? Because of their excellent, outstanding service and their attention to every detail. It might not be the biggest hotel I have ever stayed in but it has the biggest heart, in terms of amazing people (Susan and Mary to mention but two), location (off 9th ave and 46th street) and inclusiveness of all hotel guests by having an amazing... Don't expect a glitzy lobby and shiny rooms. Do expect narrow squeaky stairs and a very warm welcome. The five stars reflect the top location in walking distance to the broadway shows and most of all the staff who really cares about you. Susan goes to great length to make sure the stay is a memorable one. In the last... More

Greeted by a cute red door.. and instantly knew this was a different kind of hotel from the moment we arrived.. First we were greeted by Strawberry, a very caring and kind front desk employee, who told us about the hotel, their philosophy and about their wine and cheese get together each night as well as their coffee (rave reviews)... This week I stayed for my third time at 414 Hotel. My high expectations based on previous visits were exceeded. The staff just gets friendlier and the perks they have maintained or added are the icing on the cake: free wifi, complimentary wine and cheese in the evening, complimentary continental breakfast with the best coffee in town and the spot... Staff simply couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The cozy lobby with fireplace was a warm and welcome perk after walking in cold and snow. Comfortable beds, free WiFi. Nice breakfast (included) and good coffee. They even had GF options when they found out I had Celiac, at no extra charge. It's a great place not far from theater... More

Stayed at 414 for 4 nights in NY for NBA All Star Weekend. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Even when we had a small room snafu, they bent over backwards to help us and myself and all of my friends were accommodated. The hotel is small but extremely comfortable with great rooms and comfy beds. The location is... More

Last week we were on a business trip to Ny and we had the chance to stay at the 414 hotel. I can say it was beyond our expectations, specially because of the price. Has a great location, the room although kind of old has a very good size, excellent bed and pillows, everything is clean, the staff is incredible... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
