I lived in NYC for 17years and my hotel room was bigger than most of my apartments. I took my daughter to see a show for her vacation. When we checked in the lobby was pleasantly quiet. The front desk could not have been more welcoming. We got to the hotel early but were nicely able to check our bags... More

I've stayed at The Benjamin countless times over the past 10 years. While convenience to my office is what initially attracted me to the hotel, it was the atmosphere and staff that kept me coming back. Staff members are friendly, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure guests get what they need. The rooms are... More

A group of eight girls rented two suites at the Benjamin for St Patricks weekend. The staff could not have been more helpful, the suites were spacious and clean. It is in an excellent location and only around the corner from the metro. The bar was a bit expensive - $14 for a glass of wine. When I return to New... More

The Benjamin is a good hotel with great old world charm. However the staff need training on the basics of customer care! We were kept waiting for ages before they could give us our room! The hose keeping was also delayed most of the time! Disappointing after we paid a bomb for the rooms as it was graduation weekend and... More

We last stayed here a few years ago and just had a 2 nite revisit and the location is still great, the staff friendly and inviting BUT the facility remains a classic old building - with old, slow, noisy elevators which are usually filled (there are only 2 for a large building); small (probably average for the area) but clean... Dear emgarb, Thank you for your detailed review. Thank you for the kind words in regards to our staff at The Benjamin. They work so hard to assure all guests expectations are exceeded. I am sorry that the spa did not meet your expectations. We do have plans to do a little work in both our Spa and our lobby... More

Have just returned this morning from NYC and 7 nights at The Benjamin. The hotel is perfectly located and made the perfect base from which to explore the city and - in our case - head upstate to visit family. Grand Central is just a few minutes walk and the subway is literally across the road. The room was extremely... More

This was my first experience in New York and I won't lie I was scared I would hate it. The room was smaller that I am accustomed to but that was the only negative. The room was well appointed, even had a galley kitchen. The bedding was great! Located walking distance to nearly everything and subways to everywhere within 5... More

From reservations through checkout, this hotel delivers. Their staff is amazing! Having a choice of ten pillows is unheard of in most hotels. We took advantage of room service, complimentary cocktails and The National Bistro. Each experience was wonderful. I want to go back again and again.... :)

We stayed at this hotel when we went to an event over at Radio City. Nice 10 minute walk from this hotel. Rooms are great, modern. Bathroom was tiny but no real issue for us. Their pillow menu is a bit silly. We ate room service. Expensive but good quality. Valet parking was a little steep. There's a garage right... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
