I had a great stay for 2 nights at the Dylan thanks primarily to above and beyond customer service from front desk attendant Luis. From beginning to end, Luis was extremely attentive to any requests and needs of mine, and very accommodating. In one example, I had an important meeting in the morning, and I asked him to give me... I used to stay at the Dylan almost weekly when my office was a few blocks away. It was a new, hip, trendy, boutique hotel with a great staff. I even stayed there the night of the big blackout. Lately, it has gone downhill. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation, with peeling cabinets in the bathrooms and just... More

Dylan Hotel is located near Grand Central Station and is in walking distance to 42nd Street and 5th Avenue making it very easy to access main areas in the Midtown Area. Room was generously sized, clean with all the necessary amenities.

I generally enjoy mid-priced NY boutique hotels, but this one was a disappointment. Forewarning: the rooms don't look like the marketing photos. Dark blue carpet in room was old and worn. Closets in standard rooms are only about 10 inches wide, and the room furniture looked like it came from a thrift store. (Vintage 60's, but not in a good... More

I came for my Birthday, I chose this hotel because of the price and the location. However, when I got to the hotel , I was slightly disappointed. I gave it three stars because the location was good if your considering times square and its near 5th ave. My only issue with location was that it was two streets over... More

On the positive side: The housekeeping staff keeps the rooms/hotel very clean. The location (close to Bryant Pk. and Grand Central) is excellent. The hotel seemed very secure. The price is lower than some others in the area. The negatives: The bed was very uncomfortable (hard as concrete), the desk chair too wobbly to sit on, the easy chair stained... More

Made a reservation and confirmed 2 double beds. When we checked in, the night employee told us that it would be $50 for double beds. He said the employee that confirmed the double beds was new and he made a mistake. He also said that there were no managers there whom I could speak with. I called central reservation…that was... I was quite disappointed with the hotel from the time I arrived. They had no one there to help with bags, and no visible ramp to access the lobby. The room was ok in terms of size, specially for New York standards, but furniture looks worn, stained and beat down. Internet is included (and good quality) but breakfast is not,... More

It was a last minute choice but am not sure I would visit the hotel again. Service was not very good. Housekeeping not thorough and very late in getting rooms clean. There are only 2 elevators and on day 2 of my stay one of the elevators was not operational for about two days. At one point, when the repairs... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
