The Dylan offers sound service and striking design, but rooms are small, dimly lit, and a bit worn. Though there's a small fitness center, and close proximity to Grand Central Station. You can dine at the Benjamin Steakhouse or order meals from the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The steak here is a dream come true. It was first... More

I chose this hotel because it had an attractive rate and a 4.3 of 5 rating on Expedia, where I booked it. It is certainly not that good of a hotel. While the hotel has newer, more modern rooms and a great location two blocks from Grand Central Station, it was disappointing. Overall, the room was in good condition, the... More

The staff where so lovely and welcoming when checking in , we got up to our room and everythin was immaculate. Everything was set lovely and the option of juices , water and snacks were great. This was my first stay in New York and the dylan hotel made it memorable . Its also walking distance to the empire state... More

If you're doing a tour of the sights in Manhattan this hotel is in a good location. The hotel itself is more than adequate, it has an art deco feel to it and has a nice bit of history in its previous guise. Our room was comfortable and clean, the staff courteous and knowledgable. I'm not going to be the... More

I was very surprised with this hotel because it was so cheap for New York - I was expecting a dump. The room was excellent, though, and I had a view of the Chrysler building! Bed was very comfortable and the wifi was flawless. I had an awesome bathroom with a spa tub. However, staff were just okay. House keeping... More

Our experience at the Dylan wasn't bad, but I would say overall, I was a little disappointed. Then again, my expectations might have been a little too high. The room was clean and comfortable, until we pulled back the heavy drapes to reveal that we had an inside room. The window was fake and looked out onto an air shaft... More

while not at the 4 star level that it is touted to be, the location makes up for it. Nice boutique hotel in NYC Could use an update, little worn, and chipped walls and furnishings in the room. Lobby looked better. Clean and excellent service. Can not beat the location, a block form Grand central, and near Bryant Park.

Overall, a positive experience staying at this hotel. I was there for two nights only (over the weekend) and the room was pretty good imo. On the smaller side, though I've been in much smaller and didn't mind at all. It was clean, except for a couple towels, there were enough clean ones that I didn't need to ask for... More

I think that many people have ridiculous expectations for boutique 3/4 star hotels so I ignored the mixed reviews for the Dylan. Unfortunately, they were right. Location, lobby and staff are great. Upstairs is a different story. The door to my room looked Iike it had been through a battle. The room was a good size for one person. However,... More

Returned to this hotel for 5 nights last weekend having previously had a great weekend break here last June. Location in my opinion can't be beaten being where the NYC Transporter stops from JFK, one block from Grand Central Station, Bryant Park and shopping on 5th Avenue all within a 5 minute walk. Only slightly annoying thing was after arriving... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
