Stayed here for a business trip. Very convenient access to the blue line subway makes getting to midtown and penn station a breeze. Very friendly and helpful staff. When my newspaper wasn't delivered one morning, one my way out someone at the front desk handed my paper and said here you go Mr. XXX without my saying anything. I was... More

A warm greeting, a speedy and seamless check-in followed a helpful introduction from the Bell Captain, Vaughn made me feel immediately 'at home' at this incredibly cool hotel. Having stayed at the Ganservoort the previous week, I was immediately won over by the service and style of Dream Downtown. The following few days were absolutely perfect, spent in a warm... More

Upon our arrival we were greeted by an apologetic staff member who informed us that due to a medical emergency the guests in our room had to extend their stay for one more night. As the hotel was fully booked this meant that they were unable to accomodate us for the first night. They apologised and paid for us to... More

Dear EssexLad22 - We are always happy to get a five star review but we really did not see this one coming after your stay had a little bit of a rough start. We thank you so much for your great review and are thrilled that you awarded our efforts with this post! Best regards - AXEL More

Weekend stay. Check-in moved right along. The decor is very modern but pleasant. Room was clean with big comfortable bed and great bathroom. Some hidden costs with internet, etc. Restaurants and clubs were rocking all night long and bartenders were great. Seemed like an atmosphere for young couples and singles. Didn't see too many families or older people there. Staff... More

I couldn't sleep 2 nigths because of the loud music in the rooftop bar. They changed me to a higher floor and I was comfortable the rest of my stay. But, they knew that floor was noisy so they should have even seal the windows or close those rooms. The rate was more than 400 dollars a night, so I... More

Dear MarylinB, Again we apologize for the initial disturbance. With over 300 rooms most of our rooms are away from the nightlife venues. A few rooms may feature an occasional soundtrack in the background -which many guests find rather authentic given our emphasis on lifestyle. We will however always make sure to offer alternative rooms and upgrade guests should they... More

We recently stayed at Dream while we attended the US Open. What a fantastic experience! The hotel is convenient to the hip downtown shopping and clubs. The service was great. The room had a spectacular view and the beds were super comfortable. Vaughn, the bell captain, always had great insight on things to do. We would definitely return on our... More

We arrived at the Dream Downtown after a long day of moving and exhausted. The lobby was very modern and in our less than ideal state was a bit intimidating, but the staff quickly calmed any worries. From the valet through check-in everyone was incredibly kind, accommodating and very helpful. The staff showed us to and around our room, made... More

I have stayed in many hotels in NY, but this has to be one of the best. The service is excellent as is the food and the rooms. They were certainly the most Hi-Tech rooms I have stayed in for some time. The choice of three eating experiences under one roof is excellent.

Love the design of this hotel. The lobby was more like a trendy bar rather than a hotel lobby. The rooftop club is also cool with a great view. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed. However the bathroom wasn't too great...

Very cool place, the staff were wonderful, we had a problem with our lighting, mentioned it when we left in the morning and it was fixed by the time we came back to our room that afternoon. The beds were ridiculously comfortable. It was wonderful to have someone come to our door around 7pm nightly to see if we needed... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
