Rooms were spacious by NYC hotel standards. Lobby was small and busy when we arrived. They have a nice waiting area on the 2nd floor which fit our needs until our room was ready. Limited after hours options.

Did a staycation here recently.. My 2nd time here and got a room on the penthouse level, a corner room with king bed. I love the contemporary decor, the only issue I had was the noise from the AC unit.. It is loud. Also my room is located right beside the linen closet so I can hear the house keeping... More

This was a short stay using points from the Hyatt passport program. The property felt very clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable and the view was nice for a midrise. We had family wait for us at the hotel prior to our arrival and they were shown directly to the lounge on the second floor and made very... More

The hotel staff was friendly and eager to help. The engineering department that came to replace a defective light switch left a little chocolate hammer with a note apologizing for the problem. We also appreciated the waste receptacle for recycling paper and cans/plastic. However this was the first hotel I’ve stayed in for years that did not have a linen... More

Had to visit NYC in early December, which isn't the best time from a price perspective. Had to pay a pretty high price, unfortunately. I've seen rooms available here for less, and if I had gotten that rate, I'd probably be more positive, but as it is, I'm rating it pretty good. As some have said, very minimal lobby. Everyone... Just returned from a December weekend stay at Hyatt 48. Booked hotel in Sept and received a very fair rate in comparison to other hotels. The lobby is minimalist to the max so don't expect to be blown away when you enter. We reserved a Premier King. The room was ready on time and we had no issues checking in.... More

Very good location and nice hotel, with surprisingly small size for NYC, some 5-6 rooms per floor, 100-120 rooms all together, making it almost boutique size. The rooms are good, well designed and relatively large; Brass restaurant pleasent but with limited choices and overall service level say average, rather surprising for the hotel of this size. But still, overall positive... More

I had a two week stay with my partner. We paid the second-highest room rate, and were led to believe by the room descriptions and the hotel's website that it would be more special than it turned out to be. It was perfectly nice, but we could've done a lot better elsewhere for the price point of the room we... More

This was my first trip to the Hyatt 48 Lex. On this trip, we travelled as a group of 4 - including 2 teenagers. What I was looking for was a hotel that was close to theatres, shopping and sights but away from the crowds and noise. I selected this Hyatt property because the previous tripadvisor reviews were positive and... More

Just returned from a weekend in New York City and can't stop talking about the hotel we lucked into. When we first arrived and saw the "lobby" I was not very happy with my husband who booked the hotel. However, everyone was so nice and accommodating I got on the elevator with a smile. Our room, although small, was decorated... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
