On short notice, I attended an event at this hotel. The hotel was nice. The doormen, the security guy with the dog, the man who checked me in, the women who handled check out. all were polite and professional. The woman working in the coffee shop early on Wednesday morning was a delight. Conference facilities were fine, food was good.... More

Myself and my wife stayed here nearly 15 years ago and it was lovely. We have so many happy memories of new York and this hotel. The bar area was lovely with some great staff. Thank-you from the UK xx

The UN Plaza (now called One UN) is still our favorite hotel in NY. We spent two nights there several weeks ago and had a wonderful time. The room was lovely and we were even upgraded. What is particularly nice about the hotel is the staff. The doorman, the bell captain and the gentleman in the restaurant at breakfast greet... More

This must once have been a great hotel, however time, and lazy management, have combined to make it very tired. Focusing first on the view - it is truly outstanding, overlooking both river & skyline. Clearly the higher the floor, the better the view. That however is all that is good - our bathroom was largely papered, and in desperate... More

As a native New Yorker who now lives abroad and returns periodically for business and to see old friends and family, I am very particular about where I stay. This hotel worked very well for me, with spacious, comfortable rooms in the renovated West Wing, excellent service at the front desk, and a very functional gym, with sweeping views of... More

we booked this hotel because its one of the few to have a pool in New York unfortunately its been " broken " for 6 months according to the bell desk a fact the website doesn't mention the receptionist was so miserable it was off putting right from the start. we asked about getting a room in the west wing... Nice hotel, great view of the city but for the price there are a couple things missing. For example the room I stayed in a $250 per night didn't come with a mini bar, bottled water or even a percolator. So there was no way for me to make tea or coffee, however there is a small cafe in the... More

We booked this though priceline asking for a 4 star hotel, after reservation is set, we realized the extreme review from TA, one wing is beat up dated, and another wing of building is newer & remodeled. so upon our arrival we requested the "newer" tower and was immediately refused not until they offer "special" upgrade room rate of $50... We stayed here for 4 nights and used only to sleep in really. When we booked through Expedia the description said they had a pool, there wasn't one! This was the main reason we booked it as there were alternatives for a similar price in a more central location. Check in staff were unfriendly (a smile would crack their face)... More

For the money we have paid, it's been a decent stay. No extras, no extravagance, no breakfast, and they made us pay 12 $ per day (per device!!!!) for the internet. Even to print out a piece of paper seems a big deal: either you navigate through some complicated pay-for-print computer setup (seems 10$ min) or spend time explaining at... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
