I was looking to balance price with convenience for my stay two nights in New York City. I was presented with several options through Hotwire.com. I made my pick and once I paid my hotel was revealed. I viewed the hotels website and it looked really nice. I thought it was a great choice. Upon arrival, the hotel was quite... More

The room was ok, the view was fantastic, the staff however were very rude and not at all welcoming. On arriving at the hotel, we were checked in whilst the three members of staff behing the desk continued their conversation, barely stopping to even look at us. No offer to help with bags. The next morning there were various alarm... More

I stayed in the west tower on a high floor (upper 30's). The view was amazing. Chrysler, Empire State and Freedom tower. The touch screen controls for lighting was a bit of overkill. Ice machine was on the fritz so I had to call down for that which was a bit inconvenient. But the location more than made up.

Stayed in the west tower... Definitely the right choice... Newly renovated. I chose a higher floor.. So glad I did. Amazing view to come home to at night. The hotel arranged a bottle o wine and cheeseboard for us a we were celebration an anniversary. Very nice touch. Hope to return. Down side... The pool was out of order!

the Hotel was comfortable., looks good, ok location. ( if you are planning on visiting the UN - it' across the street) the service was ok not more than that. the hotel was very busy.. the vip lounge upstairs was very comfortable and the rooms are very nice. Breakfast was fine and the service was good.

the room was clean and had the essentials. The view of the city was great. The people at the desk on check in were courteous and helpful even at 10p.m. The bar was either bad retro or industrial motif. It had no atmosphere. Prices were to be expected and he bartender was knowledgeable and jovial The room service food was... More

The pool was nice with the view and pretty much that's all what I can say about this hotel. Stuff was not to friendly :( Our room windows was to small to my taste. Lobby is nice marble all over. Good to stay one night.

We arrived at 2am in the morning and the greeting was less than friendly. The room we were given was disgusting...obviously there had been an overflow from the bathroom...the carpets were damp and it smelt mouldy, only for the fact were were exhausted we would have gone straight back down to the lobby. The rest of the room was no... More

This hotel has very experienced, friendly and attentive staff, esp in the restaurant and at the door. We were there at low season in freezing February, but found public transport from JFK to Grand Central nearby fast and convenient. We had a great view of Manhattan from the 38th floor. Breakfast in the Ambassador Grill was very good. But it... More

Spent the first night here on a 2 week trip exploring the East Coast. Location Fairly easy to get to from JFK if you want to travel by public transport, we got the Airbus from JFK to Jamaica station ($5pp) and then jumped on the E line to Lexington ($2.75pp), then it's about a 10 min walk. It's located on... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
