Large, very high quality room. Marble bathroom, separate shower and bath. Nice toiletries. The included breakfast is very high quality. Service fantastic, everything fast and smooth. The Hotel provided tranquil comfort in the most wonderful location in the world.

I took my daughter to NYC for her 16th bday and wanted to stay at a nice hotel without breaking the bank. Sofitel seemed like a good choice, and I was right! We arrived to wafting classical music coming from the Bose clock radio and soon discovered a yummy looking mini chocolate cake wising her a happy birthday. She was... More

The Sofitel was a beautiful experience from start to finish- we enjoyed a lovely suite and the fantastic hospitality of the concierge, the people at the Front desk and everybody at Gaby's: the menus were delicious and varied! The Sofitel is midtown manhattan, there are more than 144 restaurants to choose from, theatre district is near and it is walking... More

This hotel is in a perfect location- walking distance to most theatres, many restaurants, and just off Fifth Ave shopping, 4 blocks to Rockefellar Plaza and Saks. The lobby is beautiful and has a gorgeous marble floor and comfortable sofas and chairs, plus a small room with 3-4 computers . The rooms are lovely and quiet, and the staff keeps... More

Perfect location, great staff, quiet rooms: it was not the first time for us, and we will certainly come back again ; the Gaby bar has a French-American feel that is really cosy and animated at the same time.

The rooms are spacious and modern, the staff are helpful and the restaurant is very good. It is the only place I stay if I am in New York for business travel. Book early during the week as the hotel sells out. Ask for a high floor.

The Sofitel is a great hotel chain, but this New York outpost is decidedly below par. The rooms are tiny, unimaginatively appointed, and the beds over-soft to the point of being uncomfortable. To make matters worse, every member of staff chirps a heavily Nu-Yoik accented "bon jour!" whenever you pass, as if the Eiffel Tower were ten yards away. The... More

Dear ernestoteles, Thank you for providing us with feedback following your most recent stay at Sofitel New York. We always do our best to exceed all of our guests expectations. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy our hotel's decor. The interior and rooms were designed by renowned designer Pierre Yves-Rochon to evoke an art deco style. Again thank... More

The prices fluctuate drastically depending on availability so always worth trying. New York is notorious for tiny rooms and the Sofitel only has legitimate sized rooms There are so many food options in the city that room service seems unnecessary but if you must you won't be disappointed by Sofitel food which is always good The hotel bar lacks but... This is the third stay in this Sofitel and I must say it was A-1 service. We stayed in the Presidential Suite which is like having your own apartment, complete with an office. The restaurant is excellent, especially the breakfast. The location is quite convenient to both Grand Central and Times Square and 44th/45th on that block is fairly quiet.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
