Stayed for a week with family. We had three rooms. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. Situated in Midtown it is a great location, easy to navigate and get around. Staff arranged ,advised restaurants limos etc. all as if they really enjoyed their work there.

Location is the best! If you are coming for the theaters do not stay in Times Square as its a mad house, this wonderful hotel is just shy of 2 blocks away from TS and puts you in a quieter and much less touristy area. Great restaurants abound within the hotel and next door - Gaby's, Db Moderne, Butter. Beautiful... More

Excellent reception, lobby, room services and staff. Good air conditioning. Both duty manager Louise and House Keeping Manager Joseph were extremely helpful and friendly. Room very small and aged. The lobby is large with very comfortable chairs. Highly recommended

Perfectly situated oasis. My queen-bed room was quiet (rare in NYC hotels), modern, luxe, comfortable and spacious (even the bathroom). Two people can stay in the room without stepping on each other (also rare in NYC). Top-tier details and choices in every way - from the bedding to the Lanvin amenities to the orchid in my bathroom. I have never... More

I think our 4th, maybe 5th stay at the New York Sofitel. We do like this hotel. As Platinum Accor cardholders, we always get a special welcome, and this one was even better as I checked-in on my birthday. We were upgraded to a 25th floor suite, Fantastic. View was a little dull (looked into the back of the Grace... More

The best thing of this hotel was the location. We walked everywhere and Grand Central is a couple of blocks away. The rooms are comfortable and big and the service OK. But be careful with your Amazon orders. They charge a lot for the storage of the products until your arrival.

We stayed at the Sofitel, NYC, twice for short stays in April 2015. Rooms are small-ish but clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better for us. We enjoyed restaurants in the neighbourhood and several Broadway shows. I had forgotten to carry reading material but found, to my delight, that the back entrance of the hotel... More

We checked in Fri. April 10th and stayed the weekend. It was my birthday so this was a special treat. The suite was beautiful. We had a view of the Chrysler building-magnifique! I loved the feel of the hotel. It felt very European. When we arrived back to our room, there was a birthday cake waiting for me. All these... More

We liked this hotel a lot. Very efficient and friendly, free wifi in the room, free tea and coffee in the morning, great lobby service and perfect location. The hotel was just off the main street (Avenue of the Americas) so it was quiet at night too. The room was good, the public areas had some lovely art deco features,... More

I stayed here four nights last week for a business trip. It was my first time getting a basic Queen size bed room and I must say I wasn't disappointed in the least. Their beds are the best I have ever slept in and the luxury linens both on the bed and in the bathroom make you feel pampered while... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
