Great place in Harlem. Close to the Subway, nice park and great restaurants. The location was clean and our room was spacious. I would definitely recommend. Might be a little sketchy at night if you're coming back late, nothing a cheap cab cant fix!

I stayed with my family in a triple room. The room was clean and cute. It was only a couple of blocks away to subway station and bus stop directly to central NY and convenient. There was a supermarket nearby and we were able to buy salads, fruits, breads and yogurt for breakfast and night light meals. We only wished... More

Still not completely sure if I'm on the positive side, or just neutral. Not negative, but let's say neutral for now First, what I find very important to notice. If you are not able to walk (a lot of) stairs and going to stay here in a 1 person room, think again really hard. You enter the building through stairs,... More

A nice unique guesthouse with lovely personal touches. We arrived to homemade cookies and print out of suggestions of the best places to eat and the best areas to go. Guesthouse is in Harlem but most of the main sites are at the other end of central park, so if you're not a fan of the subway then it's not... More

I stayed at Mont Morris (123rd street - they have 3 different places as far as I understood) for 6 nights. I had the downstairs room. The room was really lovely - decorated with vintage furniture) and huge. Very clean (actually, the housekeeper kept tidying our stuff in the room everyday which was a bit odd but at least she... Room was very nice, small but as expected and very clean. TV, Apple TV and Netflix was great too. Even though the price doesn't contain a breakfast, they offered coffee and donuts as a free gift, it was so nice! It was also unbelievable quiet at night, which I appreciate a lot, after so many times in NYC guesthouses full... More

I would recommend this accomodation because it is clean, feels like at home, friendly staff, clean, etc. I was a female solo guest and I found the area quite safe too. But> I want to warn other future guests that the access code can stop working to the entrance door. It happened to me. My last night I could pass... More

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks.
