The owner Felicia is rude and has no consideration for travelers. We booked our hotel through Expedia "book now and pay later" (which still shows that option on their website). 3 weeks after we booked our credit card was charged for the full hotel fee. We disputed the early charge as according to our reservation it was not supposed to... More

I'll start with the positives of the hotel. It is located in Harlem which an authentic feel of living in New York. It is about 5-10 minutes away from a subway station and bus stop. There are also some really good restaurants and cafés near by. The building itself is a very impressive 4 storey townhouse with lots of potential.... More

My fiancé and I spent four nights here at the New York Renaissance Home and Guest House at the beginning of September. We booked through booking.com, and arranged to be able to drop our bags in the room to allow us to get started exploring the city without having to lug them around. The cleaning lady we met was the... More

I've been here with my girlfriend at the beginning of January, during very cold days... the beginning was not the best part, because we were ringing the bell for several minutes with no person coming to open the door. At the end someone come, asking our names: we had reserved through Booking.com, already paid, but they couldn't find our reservation.... More

The guesthouse was adorable with lovely decoration. It is uniquely designed with unbelievable furniture, it has a lot of history. Felicia was amazing! She was very approachable and helpful, she could not have done more for her guests. This is a great place, hosted by a wonderful host!

The worst experience ever and absolutely unbelievable. First, not noted a check in required before 7pm but happened to notice a review complaining of major issues arriving later so sent an email and received confirmation of late arrival. The plane was delayed at which point the staff took off and had to find alternate accommodation. Unbelievably, the owner refuses to... More

This hotel was wonderful! It's away from the heart of the city but is a short subway ride away. It's a very charming home and the owner/host is most accommodating. Each room has unique, antique furnishing combined with modern amenities. The breakfast is wonderful so make sure you pay for the breakfast. You will not regret it. I would definitely... More

This place has so much potential if it wasn't for Felicia. The owner Felicia was hot and cold. We could not get a hold of her for more than 1/2 hour at 11:00pm when we arrived despite the advance notice of a late check in. When we did get a hold of her she seemed annoyed that we couldn't find... More

The manager of this hotel is incredibly rude and has no manners at all. She almost didn't let us in because our plane had been delayed through no fault of our own, obviously, which made an already stressful situation unbearable. She kept putting the phone down on me and telling me to phone booking.com because she "doesn't deal directly with... More
