This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I first found the hotel on Travelocity, and because it was affordable and looked nice, I booked it through the Travelocity website. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRAVELOCITY HERE. Felicia charged my credit card, but the charge did not go through. I called her after seeing the issue, and she... More

To exit this townhouse, you have to lock the door behind you, one time we came back and someone must have forgot, the door to the building was open which was unnerving. The room itself had a door you could lock, but then also another door that led to the living room, that Felicia the owner put a table up... More

Worst b & b I have ever stayed in. Location was very authentic but the place was the shabbiest and least attended by the owner/staff that I have ever experienced. Thought the bathroom/shower was shared per floor, found out it was the only one to accommodate ALL floors. That's close to 6 rooms for one bathroom! Felicia, the owner/hostess was completely... More

WHAT A MISTAKE!! My husband and I decided to stay at NYC for our honeymoon, so my husband book the hotel thru “Travelocity" agency. The hotel states free airport shuttle and was one of the reasons why we chose this hotel over others. On November 26, we arrived to the hotel and the clean lady received us, telling us that... More

I'll start with the positives of the hotel. It is located in Harlem which an authentic feel of living in New York. It is about 5-10 minutes away from a subway station and bus stop. There are also some really good restaurants and cafés near by. The building itself is a very impressive 4 storey townhouse with lots of potential.... More

My fiancé and I spent four nights here at the New York Renaissance Home and Guest House at the beginning of September. We booked through booking.com, and arranged to be able to drop our bags in the room to allow us to get started exploring the city without having to lug them around. The cleaning lady we met was the... More

I've been here with my girlfriend at the beginning of January, during very cold days... the beginning was not the best part, because we were ringing the bell for several minutes with no person coming to open the door. At the end someone come, asking our names: we had reserved through Booking.com, already paid, but they couldn't find our reservation.... More

The guesthouse was adorable with lovely decoration. It is uniquely designed with unbelievable furniture, it has a lot of history. Felicia was amazing! She was very approachable and helpful, she could not have done more for her guests. This is a great place, hosted by a wonderful host!

The worst experience ever and absolutely unbelievable. First, not noted a check in required before 7pm but happened to notice a review complaining of major issues arriving later so sent an email and received confirmation of late arrival. The plane was delayed at which point the staff took off and had to find alternate accommodation. Unbelievably, the owner refuses to... More

This hotel was wonderful! It's away from the heart of the city but is a short subway ride away. It's a very charming home and the owner/host is most accommodating. Each room has unique, antique furnishing combined with modern amenities. The breakfast is wonderful so make sure you pay for the breakfast. You will not regret it. I would definitely... More

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores.
