New hotel in mid town. Price is right, good style, and helpful staff. Not to be missed when visiting NY. We received early check in. Always appreciated, great roof top bar looking at Empire State Building

Booked for a special reunion with my family from the UK well in advance only to find out it has been double booked when we arrived at the hotel on a busy Friday night with jet lag. What was supposed to be a joyful reunion turned into a desperate scrabble to find a room. Offered a room for the first... More

Perfect location in Midtown, on West 31st Street, for exploring NY. Hotel is small (approx 120 rooms) and has 8 rooms per floor and as a result is very quiet. Rooms are well appointed, bed v. comfortable and just enough cupboard space for the two of us for our stay. Rooftop bar views of the Empire State building at night... More

Loved the staff and location but room noise problems were a major issue. This must be resolved before I would consider returning. The issue included cupboard and entry doors that slam loudly and an HVAC that doesn't cool the room to anywhere near the desired temperature. Would definitely return if this major problem were rectified. The location is close to... More

I stayed here about a year ago and it was not memorable but there is a new GM and the difference is very noticible. It's all about the service and everyone I met had a great attitude and there is pep in their step. Great choice and near penn station. Rooms are clean and good size. Give it a try.

The hotel has excellent location at West 31 St., between 5th Avenue and Manhattan and about twenty minutes' walk from Central Park. By New York standards, it offers a great value for money. Rooms are simple, but entirely satisfactory and well protected from the outside noise, although it seems that walls between rooms are rather thin. Staff are very kind... More

very friendly staff; great location. room was small, but beautifully laid out, and somehow they stuffed everything you could possibly need in secret cabinets, hidden drawers and magical labyrinths. open rooftop was awesome, also.

Johnny G, Thanks so much for your great review! Though our rooms are not the largest, our designers really did a fantastic job of space use. We look forward to many more future visits. Regards, Joseph More

I stayed here for business this past week. The rooms are small and the walls quite thin. I could hear the person in the room next to me opening and closing their shades, not to mention the television. The elevator, going up and down all night, also kept me awake, and then the maintenance people with their radios at 6:45... More

spookesha, Thanks for providing us with the necessary feedback to improve future stays. We apologize about the noisy neighbor and will look for ways to improve this in the future. Though our hotel is smaller than most of the Hyatt's, we aim to provide a more intimate experience. We look forward to potentially have you back for a future stay... More

The Herald Square is newly finished and offers a simple but well laid out, modern and clean hotel. The location is excellent and the staff friendly, helpful and pretty good at cocktails! The common areas are informal and while the hotel is small, there are plenty of places to hang out including a rooftop bar- sadly with no open bar... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
