Hotel is located in mid-manhatten with 5 minutes waking to nearest subway station. Fitness center was ok. I had issues with hot water even when the hotel changed my room to different one. Staff are available to serve. it is a city hotel with average services. i have experienced noised from bathroom and air-condition especially at night. Coffee machines is... More

The staff was the highlight of this hotel. The downstairs lobby is very clean and inviting with plenty of free copies of The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times available on your way in or out. The rooms were not as sparkling as they appeared online but were very clean. Ladies, not a lot of hanging space for... More

Alexandra, Thanks for your 4 star review. The issue you experienced with smells was due to a guest next to you who decided to use incense in his room, which is against our policies. We love the feedback and use this to make ourselves better in the future. Regards, Joseph More

Mid-town location right beside the Empire State Building. Great views from the rooftop bar. The hotel has a nice boutiquey feel, but it's completely undermined by the appallingly bad commercial trash club music that is incessantly and unrelentingly blasted out throughout the hotel. Also the hollandaise sauce on their eggs Benedict was way too vinergary and suspiciously looked of food... More

We stayed at this "small" Hyatt because of the location. Close to everything. The subway's station stop 28th and 34th was within 2 short blocks. We took the subway most of the time in NY so the location is perfect. Front desk staff was very professional and always well groomed. Room are SMALL but for what i gathered now not... More

Thanks so much for the 4 star review. We are happy for the most part that we met all of your expectations. As for room size, this is a NYC wide dilemma that most hotels face. I do like that in your note you stated that the hotel was comfortable for your family of 4. We look forward to having... More

Have to say that I was looking forward to staying here as it was for my birthday as we were going to see a show at Madison Square Garden so this hotel was near by ..........Well let's just say I will not be back. Gregsuzanne, Thank you for bringing your concerns about your stay with us. I truly apologize about the incident you had with the pillows as this is not normal for our type of service. As for the rooftop, we tend to mix the music to accommodate all types of guests, we will revisit the playlist and the volume to ensure we... More

I rarely give 5 star reviews, but the Hyatt in Herald Square definitely ticked all the boxes that I look for in a hotel. Prompt and courteous service, an early check-in that made my red eye flight more bearable, and a modern room that was spotless. As far as room sizes go in New York City, this was better than... Went to NYC for some concerts at Madison Square Garden, and stayed here with two girlfriends for a week and had a very nice time. We had a 2 double bed room, and while small like most NYC rooms, it wasn't claustrophobic and we weren't stepping over each other to get to the bathroom, etc. Wished they had some more... More

Good place in mid-town-NY to stay. Parking from 8:00PM-Fri night to Mon morning is free. Do not pay for the parking! Accessible to lots of places in the city, uptown and downtown. A short ride to the Village, or to Broadway!

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. Small and comfortable hotel. Staff very friendly and eager to assist. Can get noisy sometimes in the evening in the lobby where they have coffee shop/bar. Very close to Madison Square Garden, Macy's, Empire State Building and Penn Station Highly recommended for those wishing to chill and sight-see

I was pleasantly surprised by how "large" the room compared to other mid range hotel options in NYC. The hotel itself is on the smaller side so the hallway can feel a little claustrophobic (feels like too many rooms were packed in) but I didn't have any noise issue.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
