Last year I visited villa 121 for the first time and it was obvious I should return. This time with my 11 year old daughter. We stayed in the gold suite and we both had our own bed and room, separated by a wooden sliding door. The house is so beautiful, really incredible. All wooden floors, high ceilings, wooden stairs.... My girls and I came to the East Coast from California to tour colleges. We first stayed in Boston, and then Newport RI; our next stop - Harlem. I cautioned the girls as we exited the subway not to be disappointed after staying in such wonderful places for our first five nights - (they have been studying Harlem at school... More

We stumbled across this place on a website and called and spoke with Peggy on the phone to make reservations. I could tell as soon as I spoke to her that this was the sort of experience we were looking for. She was personable and chatty and you could tell by speaking with her that she loved having guests, loved... More

We (me and my husband) NY for the first time, we did not want accommodation in standard chain hotel, we wanted something special and Villa 121 is very special :-). Lloyd and Peggy are the best hosts, very nice, always prepared to help, they really care for their guests. Villa itself is very beautiful, it is authentic, rooms are immaculate.... More

Harlem is an up and coming area of NYC with a lot of development. It was fun to stay in an area rich in history and historic sites. Only five blocks from the bus and subway makes it perfect for minimizing transportation costs. A nearby grocery store, kitchenette in the room, comfortable bed and a big bear claw bathtub all... We found Villa 121 when we were referred to them by another Harlem guesthouse that had to cancel our reservation last minute. It was a total blessing. Villa 121 is located on a quiet street in a neighborhood that felt safe to walk in. The owners, Peggy and Lloyd Toone made us feel very welcome into their stunningly beautiful 5... More

Peggy & Lloyd own a wonderful “Brownstone” house in a very quirt area of Harlem. This house has retained its authentic interior and looks spectacular. Its well maintained and well equipped for the tourist. The rooms large, comfortable, and airy. There are a number of good restaurants locally, the subway is a short 5 min walk away. Times Square is... More

We are a family of 5 from the UK and stayed here in May. We had the Gold floor which consisted of two huge interconnecting rooms and a bathroom all to ourselves. We thought this place was amazing. It is well run by Peggy and LLoyd who were very welcoming, friendly and patient with us adjusting to the NY time... More

I can't put into words how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa 121 ... Right through the hurricane! Peggy and Lloyd couldn't have been more welcoming, generous and hospitable. We had an early setback, which Peggy and Lloyd worked so hard to overcome. We had booked the Green Suite plus the little single room, believing that they were either... More
