First time in NY so didn't know what to expect but this hotel was brilliant. Very friendly and helpful staff (though they could do with stools instead of having to stand all the time). Clean and cool room and free wifi. Amazing location - 5 or 10 minutes walk to Times Square and near 5th avenue. Will definitely come back.

Great hotel value. New everything. Not a hotel to hang out in, but a great new hotel with efficient Euro Style rooms and decent gym and other amenities. Good value. Convenient to Rockefeller Center and other spots.

First time staying here, but will not be the last - as long as the prices hold out. Great location, very nice staff all around, and pretty nice room! The room was perfectly appointed. Nice work desk. I notmally don't use them as they typically seem to be an afterthought. This one can view the TV and had a lot... More

I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best Manhattan hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were fairly standard in terms of size; perhaps a bit larger than normal than Manhattan but what made the hotel stand out was: 1) Design of hotel rooms was perfect. I can't really explain this but they were just very... More

New York hotel rooms, even upscale ones, are usually tiny and, as we say in German, "versifft". This brand new hotel, even in its lowest category which I wanted to try out even though it was a business trip, has nice, largeish (= normal), functional, well-designed rooms. I appreciated the free washing/drying machine, cold water, and wlan. Friendly staff, fantastic... More

I was part of a college lacrosse team that stayed at the Jewel on 3/12/11. Great location and an extremely friendly staff. Rooms were well done and offered all the latest tech features. Looking forward to returning to the Jewel with my family on my next visit to NYC.

Traveled with my daughter for a 4 day city break. Booked this as a 'Secret Hotel' with Expedia, so we didn't actually choose this hotel, but were allocated it. We actually got it at about half the proper rate which was excellent considering the location and standard of the hotel. The hotel is 2 minutes one way from Fifth Avenue... More

I was expecting another disappointment - you know how bad NY hotels are and the poor costumer service they have- but this was a good surprise. The place is small, like a hotel boutique, right in front of the Rockefeller Center. Located on 51st Street, rooms are small but cozy and clean. To my surprise it was very silent too.... More

Excellent location for this boutique hotel just steps from 5th Avenue & facing Rockfeller Centre. My studio was nice and modern, with a very confortable bed. Bathroom was trendy & sleek with a good shower. Minibar, coffee machine, flat-screen TV. A nice sized desk ideal for working. Only one advice: do not use the hotel phone, rates are rather high.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
