Room was nicely renovated (small though). Very functional for business traveller. Very fast and free cable internet. Right across from the Rockefeller Center

This was a great hotel in a fantastic location, 51 St. right off 5th. If it was Christmas, my window would have looked right out onto the tree. You can walk to Boucheron's across the plaza and get coffee and a pastry and watch the Today Show live. The room, while narrow, was about 35ft long. It is very compact,... More

First great thing is you don't have to deal with any customer service people to check in. We arrived early went to check-in (just need to swipe your credit card) and had our room keys in less than a minute. The room is not large but has a lounge chair, desk with chair and double bed, perfect for 2 people... More

When we first got there we wondered what it would be like because there is basically no lobby. You walk in and there are two computers and people who check you in, who are not very friendly. However, this hotel was extremely clean and nice. The room was very spacious, they had computer access on another floor and they provided... More

Stayed at this hotel for four nights and was more than happy with everything. We got it from Hotwire at a great rate for New York city and had a quiet clean and comfortablr room - small but more than adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful and the free internet and bottled water were a great bonus. The area... More

After having to change our holiday plans at late notice we found it hard to find anywhere in a great location within our budget but The Jewel was ideal. With 5th Avenue, The Rockefeller, Times Square & Central Park all within a few minutes walk away, you couldn't ask for a better location, from a tourists perspective. We were lucky... More

I stayed 4 nights here this month, and it was fabulous. A iHome dock for my iphone, chilled water stations on every floor, USB ports in several places, and a well utilised space. The room was pretty small, but I chose a view that was sensational. And the room was size enough for my needs. The service was great, and... More

I cannot say enough about the Jewel. The location is ideal. It is a 30 second walk to Rockefeller Plaza where there are numerous restaurants, NBC studios and shops (Banana Republic, J.Crew, etc.). Be sure to check out the lower level of Rockefeller Plaza for quick, healthy meals and snacks. Two subway stops (for different lines) are also very nearby.... More

LUDICROUS FEES--EVEN FOR NYC $180 unwarranted fee added. I agreed to a $35 late check out fee @ 3 pm. I arrived in the lobby on time, but had to wait as they checked others. At less than 10 mins past 3, they stated that the fee would then be $150! So 10 mins (not my fault) cost $115. I... More

The Jewel has tiny rooms. The one we stayed in was top floor, where you can only take the stairs from 14th floor. And it was a tiny room though modern and clean with coffee machine and a nice desk. Our window was facing a wall that was the worst part of it. Other than that it was a nice... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
