Visited here for New Year's Eve, it was mine and my wife's first visit to New York so this hotel was perfect, location was excellent perfect position to walk to Times Square and Central Park. We had a great view overlooking radio city and the rockerfeller Christmas tree, bills burger over the road served excellent quick food. The hotel itself... More

Awesome location within walking distance to many of NYC gems and trains. We were immediately upgraded with they realized that 3 adults would not fit into the room that was booked for us. We were also given complimentary breakfast at the Terrance next door at their sister hotel. The rooms were well equipped with kitchenettes, docking stations, wifi, access to... More

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms are spacious in comparison to some rooms in the city. The hotel is clean and modern and has water filling stations on each floor. Bathroom is clean, but small and I wish the bed was more comfortable. But for the price (and location), I would definately stay here again.

I have recently stayed at The Jewel for 5 nights total (3+2 with a wedding in another state in between):top notch location! The staff is super friendly and ready to help, and they let me store my bigger luggage with them for the two days in between...the person who checked me in even asked me how my friend's wedding was... This boutique hotel gets an AA for Absolutely AWESOME! I arrived after 35 hours travel from New Zealand for my first stay at the Jewel. Needless to say the basics were important to me - a peaceful, clean, and well purposed room in a nice locale. The room was everything I expected and more. Faultless in a word. Compact yet... More

This was an awesome place. My favorite things about it was the staff, Iris, Rene and all the rest including the housekeeping crew. Wonderful people. And the other thing was the location. Could not have been better for us. Quiet when needed to be but filled with activity all around at other times you would expect in the city. Had... More

The Jewel is a fantastic gem in the heart of NYC, that's affordable and very accommodating. Spent three nights for a girlfriends weekend. Quaint little boutique hotel with the style and amenities of a large hotel. Staff was very helpful and hospitable. Free WIFI and free bottled water. I will recommend The Jewel to family and friends and stay there... More

This is not the Waldorf Astoria nor does it pretend to be. This is a nice little affordable hotel in midtown that is comfortable and clean. I was having repairs done at my apartment so had to move in for a couple of days. Rene and Iris were AMAZING! They treated me like family. I went to the Living Room... More

My husband and I stayed at The Jewel August 1-5, 2015. We were in NYC to celebrate his 50th birthday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Upon arrival we were told there was construction on the building. We never heard a sound from the workers! I would recommend this property to others and plan to stay there again very... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
