Perfect location for classic New York Fifth Avenue/Rockefeller Center/Radio City Music Hall area. Step outside the lobby door, look left--Fifth Ave and St Patrick's! Cross the street--Rockefeller Center! Look right--Radio City! Rooms are small (not tiny--I've stayed in smaller!) but quite adequate, had everything we needed--even a small refrigerator. While modern and basic, they are well designed and pleasant. Our... More

We stayed here for two nights after moving from another hotel which was also operated by Club Quarters. We're a group from Canada and i was very pleased with the service. The free laundry and the living room area were very nice and a perfect place to unwind after walking around the city. Although the dryer was busted, they let... More

My wife and I were not sure what we were getting into, but we were more than pleased after our stay. There was construction going on outside, but this is the norm for New York City. Everywhere you go this is happening. It is a boutique hotel with simply a lobby on the first level, but it does have a... More

We chose well on our 1st visit to the Big Apple. The entrance is unassuming and lobby is very small so don't expect the lap of luxury. Immediate props to Iris at the desk who was extremely helpful and cheerful in every way, a fine lady. The rooms aren't large, literally no wasted space, but fine for us since we... More

My mother, aunt, and cousins stayed here this past weekend to celebrate my cousin’s birthday in New York City. My aunt found a great deal for a two bedroom suite for $385 on Groupon and we were all excited about staying here after looking at the pictures online and reading the reviews. Unfortunately, our stay wasn’t as great as we... More

My husband and I stayed at the jewel for a three day weekend in March. It was very nice and very accommodating. My husband and I were both overly pleased with how exceptionally nice the staff was. Iris, who was a staff member working at the front desk was always willing to help with anything that we needed. She really... More

Perfect Location. Small room but perfectly laid out so everything you need is there. Nice lounge on second floor. Hip but not pretentious Fitness center is minimal, no treadmill. Friendly and helpful staff

I don't think I can say enough nice things. All the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The room was immaculate. There is bottled water by the elevators. The location is terrific. There are all kinds of amenities, if you request them, like a kit with a sleep mask and aromatherapy. Sure, the room was small, but they have creatively... More

Of all the Manhattan hotels we have ever stayed at - The Jewel is our favorite meriting a full five-star rating. First: location. You can't beat that, almost smack in the middle of East Side and West Side (Fifth avenue, off which The Jewel is located, serves as a border between them), so one is basically equidistant from most of... I was very pleased with this hotel. The location was very central, just down from St Patrick's Cathedral. It was clean and well appointed. Having water bottles and filtered water on demand on every floor was wonderful and convenient. Free WiFi was a very welcomed added benefit! My only criticism is that I definitely didn't love the mattress, however, sleeping... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
