My review basically mirrors the experiences of a lot of other people. My partner and I stayed at Element for 4 nights in May. We chose the hotel due to its central location. Check in was fast and efficient and we were pleasantly surprised by the room - clean, modern with a small kitchenette. Times Square is a very short... More

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful ! We booked it last minute at a very good price (126 Canadian dollars/night). We were surprised to see that we had a 100% functional kitchenette (which is pretty rare in NYC). The room was nice, pretty clean except for the windows. The breakfast was ok. Go eat it on the rooftop terrace... More

We stayed here with two teenage girls for 5 night and though it was a fab place. The location is amazing within walking distance to Times Square and two mins walk to subway links that get you to all of Manhattan. Staff were helpful and friendly. I was concerned about the lifts but we never waited more than 2 minutes... More

While the hotel had its good points (nice room, central location, evening reception on weekdays), several things were disappointing. The wifi was rarely fully functioning, and the security level of the connection would not allow me to connect to my work computer...this does not happen in other hotels I visit. VERY problematic for me! The elevators downstairs were often so... More

Nice hotel. Helpful staff. Very clean room. I was in a corner room on floor 28. The view wasn't much. Partial view of Empire State Building at an extreme angle (i.e., if you are standing right at the window and looking way left.) I only had one instance of having to wait a long time for an elevator (a problem... More

We loved the decor! The bed was really comfy and the room was spacious and clean. The fridge, freezer, dishes and sink were a great addition for our stay. We made good use of the concierge desk who was very helpful. The breakfast and evening meals were substantial and satisfying.

Just came back from NYC with my daughter and found this hotel to be very well located. Front desk staff were friendly, the room was spacious and clean and having a kitchen was definitely a plus. There are restaurants close by on 9th avenue and the subway is about 3 blocks from the hotel. The elevators were a big problem... More

Close to Penn Station and walking distance to Times Square. Great for business stay - clean large rooms, adequate breakfast, friendly staff, Starwood points etc. Also near MOMA and many eating options.

Spent 3 nights. Great hotel. Friendly staff, clean, healthy buffet breakfast served. Convenient to theatre, restaurants, nightlife, landmarks, shopping, and main attractions. Port Authority and Penn Station are nearby. Grand Central is just a cab or subway ride away. I walked all over the city from the West to the East. Loved it!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
