My husband and I travel to NYC at least yearly, this time was exceptional! The mood was set from the highly personable Christine who greeted us openly. All the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and valued. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in a contemporary art deco style with all the high tech extras. The restaurant located within the... For an anniversary celebration weekend in New York, we'd wanted a special hotel. The Chatwal was brilliant. We loved it: warm welcome, cool retro decor and great 44th street location (within easy walking access up to Central Park or down to the Highline). In recognition of our anniversary, Brandon, the terrific head butler had fruit, a lemon tart and lovely... More

I stayed at The Chatwal a week ago in new york and was pleasantly surprised at actually how lovely the rooms were. The bathroom was spacious as was the room. We were upgraded when we arrived which was a very nice surprise after a long flight & all the staff were all helpful and amazing. The location was perfect. Literally... More

When we arrived, extremely tired from the long trip and wet from the rain, the hotel did not have our room ready because the previous guest did not leave. After quite a wait they gave us a worse room than the one we booked which was pretty bad considering the price and category of the hotel. It was only then... More

First the good bits: nice shower, nice location, the bed is comfortable. Unfortunately that's where it stops for me. $700 a night for a queen bed in a small room with an adjoining door and no option but to listen to your neighbors every move is not great value in my view. I could get that at a $50 motel.... More

My husband and I stayed for over 2 weeks in August. We had a very relaxing stay, despite the hurricane. We had beautiful room with a terrace and well worth while to open this up to extra light and the world outside. When our flight home was unexpectedly canceled The Chatwal was there to help us out with accomodation at... More

We stayed for 7 nights, staff were very nice but service/responsiveness could have been much better. To be fair we did arrive on Saturday morning before the hurricane so staff were otherwise occupied and could not get to our questions. But we did not hear back from them at all - and it was up to us to keep going... More

Just checked out of this wonderful hotel experience. I cannot recommend the Chatwal enough. First and foremost, the staff is unreal. When we arrived the front staff was welcoming a family...I was certain this was a celebrity...until moments later we too were given the white glove welcome. Our arrival from left coast got us to hotel at 5. Our amazing... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
