My husband and I stayed there recently for 5 nights. We liked the hotel very much and everyone was very nice towards us. The chief concierge (Nick) was extremely helpful. He not only made reservations for dinner every single night but got us tickets to a show with 24 hours notice. I realized that we were lucky to be given... More

My wife and I had a quick 2 night stay. Walking into the hotel I was greeted by a doorman and went directly to the front desk where they quickly checked me in and I was lucky enough to get an upgrade to a junior suite. The inside of the hotel is beautiful art deco decor, where if I had... More

This was a brief two night stay as I wished to experience this newly redone hotel close to Times Square. The art deco decor is truly impressive. I found the staff to be extremely gracious and helpful, especially the concierge. One of the best features of the hotel is the Lambs Club restaurant. Where in New York can you find... More

I only stayed one night but it was absolutely fantastic. I was on a business trip but staying at several places in order to "scope" out hotels for a longer family trip planned for December with the whole family. This place is a hidden gem with a great location. Truthfully, I had second thoughts about writing a review on it... More

This was my second time in the hotel. Again I enjoyed as much as I did the first time. I am a seasoned traveler and quite demanding when it comes to certain features that I find important. The rooms tend to be rather small, but very comfortable. The rooms have great beds with comfortable pillows and good size king beds.... More

Nice property and was glad to see an alternative in SPG's Manhatten portfolio in the upscale segment. Close to Times Square - not the most prestigious location, but perfect if you are looking to see musicals or go to the theater; also close enough to other Midtown attractions or office buildings. Entrance is very understated (almost walked by once), lobby... More

This hotel is beautiful and the staff is nice and tries to provide what they think of as good service. However, it's not soundproofed at all--very thin walls between rooms. Also, why would the hotel put a business traveler (myself) on the party central floor, which includes the hotel bar, and a private party room?! The night I was there... More

What a hidden treasure! Just steps from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and the theatre sits the lovely Chatwal. The oversized rooms and amenities are a rare find in similarly priced NYC hotels. The service, decor and general ambience was top shelf. Don't miss it...

Just spent three nights at the Chatwal. Art deco common areas and rooms are beautifully appointed although the black bathrooms get some getting used to. The heated toilet seats sort of make up for it. The location is perfect for theatre goers. We were on a 3rd floor suite which, unbeknownst to us, is directly over the bar. On Friday and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
