We had a wonderful stay at The Chatwal. The rooms were very clean and tasteful. The service was friendly and helpful. We had a large balcony off our room which was a luxury. The location was perfect for us with it's proximity to Times Square and 5th Avenue. We also enjoyed the cafe across the road for breakfast.

The hotel is wonderful both in its decor and its service. Every need is taken care of with a smile. The suites are over the top and make the stay that much more enjoyable. Also, they are directly across from the Belasco Theater where you can see Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The Lambs Club is THE place to dine... More

Located on 44th Street just next to Times Square you might expect this hotel to be on the noisy side. Nothing of the sort. Enter through a black awning and satisfyingly heavy doors and greeted by the doorman you realise you are somewhere special. The reception staff are friendly and inviting and the rooms are quite spectacular. My son and... More

The suede-covered walls and rounded corners, dim lighting, and small size of this hotel's bedrooms make the guest feel like a jewel nestled in a case, which is pleasant enough, but can be a bit disorienting. The Sikh butler on my floor did not greet me but did respond promptly when I needed a toothbrush. Actually, the fact that no... More

We stayed at the Chatwal from April 12 - April 15. We had the most beautiful suite called The Producer's Suite. Everything about it was beautiful and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the 750 sq. ft. rooftop balcony the most and the views were amazing. I would love to be there for New Year's Eve as you can see the ball... More

There was miss-communication between our travel agent and the hotel and our reservations were not on file. The front desk staff, and most importantly the manager, worked to resolve the issue. We were happy to hear from the very beginning was "don't worry, we'll work this out." They comped us drinks while the issue was sorted out and then put... More

Just finished a several-night stay in the Chatwal's Producer Suite. It's a fine hotel in a nice location--nestled right between Times Square and Sixth Avenue, so both central and quiet. And the service is generally top-notch, as frequent SPG travelers like me (I'm a 100-night Platinum) expect. But my stay was ruined by the proverbial bad apple in the bunch--the... More

Michael, Michael, Michael.....from the moment Michael met me at the door, to explaining about the heated toilet seat and tv that "magically" appears on the bathroom mirror I knew that the Chatwal was going to be a "unique boutique" experience. All of the personnel were friendly and took the time to answer all my questions. The room was amazing and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
