Wonderful, small hotel in the heart of the theater district of New York. Lovely rooms and the service was exceptional. Everyone there made you feel welcome and that they truly cared about you enjoying your stay. Rooms were very tastefully done with many ammenities.

Really enjoyed my stay. Loved the technology including the TV in the mirrored wall in the bathroom. Turn down service was nice and the makeup removal washcloth was a nice touch. The room was modern but comfortable.

I haven't stayed in more than a dozen hotels in the city so I definitely don't feel qualified to say this is the best in NYC, but I can tell you that it is the best I've stayed in! You know right away that this place is special because the doormen are really sharp, friendly and motivated! (As an example,... More

I don't want to tell you how wonderful this place is because I don't want people competing with me for the incredible rooms and impeccable service. Old school NYC. The little details that matter 24/7.

Have traveled to New York City many times. Usually stay in Midtown as we like to go to shows most nights. Decided to try the Chatwal, a luxury boutique hotel a few steps away from Times Square but with none of the chaos one block away. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff attentive and excellent in every regard. When they... More

Staid here recently for a couple nights. Overall a nice hotel the location is good for the theatre district or time square. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, which is impressive for New York. We liked the room design overall the problem was the room location. They put us on the 2nd floor near the elevator which I would... More

We stayed at the Chatwal May 7-11, 2015. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in NYC. The attention to detail in the rooms, restaurants, lobby and spa are fantastic. The bathrooms are huge with the most wonderful toilets, showers, and tubs. The bath products are spectacular, the food is delicious, service is professional. It is... More

My husband and I stayed with our two year old daughter at the Chatwal in New York City. We were excited for our daughter to experience New York and wanted a hotel that was walking distance to the Big Apple's many attractions. The Chatwal is just a block from Times Square but is a quiet escape from the hustle and... More

After much research, I decided on the Chatwal in celebration of my daughter's 30th birthday. I booked room 401 which is classified as the "executive studio." Very large room which included two bathrooms, separate living room and bedroom. Loved the comfortable bed & crisp linens. Not to mention the mirrored bathroom(s) with heated toilet seat, bidet, waterfall shower and TV!... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
