The hotel is really nice. It started with an easy Valet parking drop off right in front of the hotel. Check-in was fast. The rooms are amazing. The bathroom ranks as top 3 in all my travels and I've been to some high-end places. We were in and out in less than 20 hours so I did not experience much... More

I stayed at the Chatwal in late November and booked two rooms. Reviewing a hotel can be difficult if the stay is uneventful and pleasant, and can be fun and filled with vindication if not. This will be a quick review. The hotel is nice and pleasant, and leaves nothing to disappoint. The inside (lobby, common areas and rooms) are... More

I booked 3 rooms in the fall and wanted a luxury boutique hotel close to the theatre district and times square where my mother was surprised to have my brother meet us there. Each our our rooms were great and in particular - I had room 706 - which must be one of the best rooms in the hotel. The... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel was really lovely. Our room was cosy, everything we needed, plus an amazing bathroom. Love that shower!! The hotel is perfectly located minutes away from Times Square and walking distance to most places around Manhattan. The staff were really nice too. Our only complaint is that our laundry took about 1.5... More

I am a frequent visitor to NYC and this hotel is the best by some distance for me. Key standouts are awesome personal service (remembering room preferences, tea kettles etc), very comfortable and high functioning rooms, excellent location and not too big a hotel. Highly recommended. Good room service and Lambs Club is a very nice restaurant also.

First of all, New York is just not my favorite place. Dark skyscraper canyons and massive crowds. Oh well, it is what it is. I didn't give this the top rating because, while very nice it wasn't spectacular. The rooms are elegant, expensively furnished, but the decor rather dark, with imitation (not a complaint) leather covering the closets and desks.... More

I booked this hotel as I was looking to have a pool available. What a fantastic experience! From the moment we checked in, we were really looked after by the amazing staff - The room was fantastic, HUGE bathroom and walk in shower - all the amenities you could want. The building itself is just stunning. We ate at The... More

Chatwal is a hidden gem. Most people passing by probably have no idea this small classy building is home to an amazing hotel. What’s different you might ask? First, it’s quite small, just 70 rooms, so definitely it doesn’t feel like a huge business corporate hotel. I can’t stand those Hyatt’s or W’s, there is nothing homy about them, just... More

We stayed in this area for only the second time. The hotel's rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast in the Lamb's Club was very good on our two occasions to dine there. The streets are a bit confusing due to construction, but if you like to use the subway there are two locations close by---Bryant Park and Times Square.... More

After thinking "Are we at the right place?" upon approaching the rather small, heavy, landmarked doors of the Chatwal, I quickly realized, that Yes! We are at the right place indeed! Offered drink vouchers upon check in for the lounge bar (maybe due to our SPG status). Great, friendly, out going staff; we had to catch a flight, so we... More

Dear Rob B, Your compliments and feedback are much appreciated. The Junior Suite is an excellent choice, and it is always a delight when a guest enjoys the special Art Deco touches in our rooms. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
