My friends and I stayed in the Artists Loft for a weekend visit to NYC and we will definitely be back. The decor of the apartment was beyond beautiful and it was perfect for our group of 5. The place was clean and it is obvious the owners put a lot of work into decorating and designing the suite. The... More

This place is such a quaint little find in Harlem. This is one of those places that you don't wanna tell people about so I can always get a room there, but it's such a beautiful place that you have to tell people about it! The entire crew were very accommodating and helpful. Located on a quiet street with great... More

La Maison d'Art is a wonderful guest house with carefully decorated rooms and very helpful and friendly staff! The rooms are very quiet, so you can reliad your batteries aftet an exciting day in New York. Harlem in general is a really cool area, not too touristy but still close to everything one would want to see when visiting NYC!... More

It was great and Sophie and Stefani were very friendly. We had a great time and stay in Harlem. We stayed in the artist loft and enjoyed it very much. It is a great and fully equiped apartment and only a short ride from Manhattan. Ilse, Thom & Hans

We loved staying here. Sophie was very nice and helpful giving us recomendations of restaurants and bakeries! The location is great: quiet and near public transportation, restaurants and shops. The room is cosy with everything that you need.

The people are very nice. The room is clean and comfortable. There is art everywhere! There really isn't maid service but it's not a big deal. It's about 8 blocks from a subway. There are some delis and groceries nearby.

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.
