Location is great but be prepared to haul your luggage 7 floors up without elevator in the scorching summer heat. Elevator is always out of service, every day for weeks on end. The location is good but at the intersection there are homeless people who gather and are loud at all hours of the night. The fact that there are... More

We stayed here for 3 months in the summer of 2013. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect location- close to a ton of dining, markets and shopping! Also, close to the UWS train station, making for an easy commute. Nice clean room, small but that is to be expected in NYC. We had a shared kitchen & bath with... More

I have stayed at the hotel for a little over 1 month now, so I've had enough time to access the property. The property is in a great neighborhood on the UWS convenient to the 96th St subway stop and everything you will need within a 2-4 block radius. The building is well maintained with the exception of the lobby... More

I was in New York for couple of days and actually stayed at this hotel because it was recommend by a friend from home. The hotel is nice, but the cleaning person doesn't seem to do that great of a job at cleaning the rooms. Overall, the price is very good for this hotel and its in a pretty good... More

I'm here during my internship, and I have the impression that a lot of the guests are here to study. I stayed in a shared room with my friend; we shared bathroom and kitchen with the rest of the floor. I don’t know where to start. If you expect to use the kitchen for making simple food, perfect, use the... More

I booked a room here for my 19 year old daughter to stay for a month while she was in NYC for a dance program. Was naturally nervous as i dropped her off there in the big city on her own but found this place to fit the bill nicely! Location was great in a nice neighborhood. Nice market, restaurant... More

Starting with the location, it`s located in an wonderful place, just 3 blocks from a subway station on Broadway. So, it's pretty safe to walk in and out there at night. I did this several times during my stay. Another good reason to stay here is that the rooms were fully renovated, despite the fact that the building is centenary.... More

Comfortable room with nice location. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I and my friend stayed in a twin room, bathrooms are shared with other guests. Reasonable price and it is good for budget limited backpackers.

I have just returned from spending a month at the Hotel 99 and am ready to reserve for next year. Rating this hotel is difficult as I couldn't compare it with the usual expensive Manhattan hotels. First of all, the location at 99th and Broadway on the upper west side was perfect. It is three minutes from the 96th St.... More

Nothing major to report. Rooms were small but well equipped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location was a little out, but there was a station close by. For the price paid I was happy.
