Stayed here after being cancelled elsewhere and the only upset was that I had to move again as during spring break and paddys night they were booked up. Relaxed reception staff, clean comfortable kitchen to cook in and lovely neighbours, dorms are dorms, nothing fancy, bunk beds etc , I think I left my red coat behind hope it went... More

This all-girls hostel needed some cleaning and more bathrooms; but there was an ok social area/kitchen and the staff were nice. No lockers but each room locked. I don't the area is the best but as the hostel is only one block away from the main street I felt ok walking to it.

I booked to stay here in Dec 2010, but cancelled due to the snow and being unable to fly into NY. I was already in America and rang to cancel my booking with more than 24 hours notice. Their cancellation policy states you will be charged 1 nights stay if you cancel with less notice. I confirmed with the person... More

I have travelled all accross America satying in Hostels throughout my travels and I can honestly say have never felt complelled to write a bad review for a hostel but for this one I will happily make an exception. I will try to be constructive. Security and location - This is situated in quite a rough area but its ok... More

I was travelling alone in New York City, had only my lonely planet guide to tell me where to go. the staff gave me a list of places to visit, to eat, and to drink. they were awesome, they chatted with me for a good half hour when i needed company, and showed me personally to my room (so few... I booked this hostel after reading lots of positive reviews on it but I won't go there again. For a start, no-one mentioned that it is in Harlem and everywhere you look there are intimidating-looking gangs hanging about, especially next to the subway station. There are two different subway lines that go to the station it is at, 110th Street,... More

I stayed here three nights during hot weather. The rooms did have aircon but my roommates did not want the ac on all night due to the noise. The room was tiny with no hanging space at all, full of two double bunks. The plastic mattress was rather nasty but al least the linen was clean. The bathroom was pretty... More

It's great place to stay in NYC if you travel alone altough is not in the center of Manhattan. I really like it and can recommend for every girl/woman. clean, staff is nice, you can meet people from everywhere. it's really friendly and neighbourhood is ok. really close to subway and grocery, and of course to Central Park. it could... Travelling with 2 other female friends aged 19-23, this was by far the best hostel out of the 4 we stayed in! The hostel was spacious and modernly decorated / furnished. In addition to this the staff were friendly and knowledgebale about the local area, having helped me find my way around a number of times. There was free wireless... More

It´s a pretty nice hostel I think. The staff is friendly and they help you, if you have a problem or any questions. The rooms were big enough, so you are not sleeping like a sardine ;-), but unfortunatly they don´t have lockers. The location is really good I think, you have the subway 2 min nearby and in 12...
