What I really like the most was the service. Mrs. Marilyn is an awesome, polite and helping person. The size of the room, the food, services, the bed, the view to the garden, the ubication...everything was fantastic. In great part, thanks to Allie´s Inn Bed and Breakfast, my wife and I had the best New York trip ever.

We stayed in Allie's Garden View room for Christmas 2015 because it was close to our son and his wife's apartment. The room was very comfortable, very clean, very quiet, and very conveniently located, not only to our son's apartment, but also to subway transportation and interesting things to see and do. The first day we walked to the Grange,... More

I stayed in Allie's Room, which was clean, well-appointed and very comfortable - although I couldn't figure out how to switch the bath taps to the shower function, so I had baths rather than showers each day. That was ok for me, but perhaps a note in the bathroom could explain to guests how to do it. I felt that... More

Alliies Inn was just what we needed for our stay in New York. We were looking for somewhere that was close to our son and his wife in Harlem but within easy access of the Subway so that we could go site seeing. It was clean and comfortable, with a well stocked fridge on our arrival!

Positives: The room was conveniently located to subway, very clean and spacious. Negatives: hardwood floors mean if other guests on the upper floors are up all night you will hear every step and creek and not get much sleep. The lady who runs it didn't return my calls before our stay. Wasn't good at return calls during our stay either.... More

Thank you for your review. Your comment on the hardwood floors, I intentionally installed hardwood floors, throw rugs or carpet is not a good option for people with allergies, it is difficult to keep clean and breeds germs. I don't remember receiving any phone calls from you, written on the Welcome Card left in your room it states "I live... More

We stayed in Allie's Room over the weekend while visiting family in Harlem. The brownstone is about 1/2 block from 135th Street subway stop. I rang the bell, and the caretaker came right out and showed me to the room, explained the wifi and TV, and showed me all the breakfast food they provided (rolls, three kinds of fruit, juice,... Good value for money, quiet spacious clean apartment, good accessibility (Subway station B and D around the Corner, 135 St., Access to express Train A in 125 St.), well secured entrance. Breakfast facilities very convenient! My daughter and I had a very good time and can only recommend Allie´s Inn.

This was a nightmare! Do NOT make reservations here. Trip Advisor, be advised!!!! I made reservations through the app well in advance and as you all know, was charged in advance for the full five day reservation. I called Monday, October 12 to let Allie's know that our flight arrived at 1pm to NYC and thus, we would arrive around... More

My apologies to Ms. Warmer for the confusion, it was an overbooking. I had been hospitalized for 6 weeks, since August 21st 2015. I did not have the change to hire a manager in my absence. We did invite Ms. Warmer into my house, my sister work with Ms. Warmer to find a replacement hotel, Ms. Warmer called her brother... More

Our family stayed at Allie's recently and it was perfect. It is clean, had the most delicious peaches ever, was in walking distance to everything we needed and the kids could play out on the sidewalk and everyone was so friendly! Felt safe, welcoming and like having our very own little brownstone in Harlem. I would HIGHLY recommend this place... More

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks.
