As a family of 4, this was an ideal location. Cost wise very reasonable in New York, with privacy, also close to Central Park, subway, gyms and great eateries and coffee shops nearby . Also an added bonus of a very welcoming and well organised and informative host, Monica. The old brownstone added a great ambience to our stay that... More

We stayed in the two lower apartments for 11 nights- our teenagers stayed in the apartment closer to the street. The apartments are very quiet, secure & comfortable with beautiful linen and furnishings. Monica & Larry were very helpful hosts and provide lots of local info. The required cash payment and return of cash deposit worked OK although inconvenient from... More

We struggled for ages to find accommodation that fitted our budget whilst being in Manhattan and not a sterile hotel room. We were so thrilled to fine The West Townhouse. Excellent quality accommodation, beautifully furnished in a wonderful brownstone building. Well situated for the subway and moments away from Central Park. Monika was an excellent host, very organised and helpful... More

I had been looking for a place which was not an impersonal hotel room as I had 2 weeks ahead of me and wanted a place that gave me a feeling of space and home where I could spread out and relax. This was it! A beautiful studio apartment with exquisite linen and furnishings which was light and airy, elegant... More

Excellent location away from the hustle & bustle of midtown, but still close to restaurants, coffee/tea shops, the subway, grocery stores, pharmacies, Central Park (couple of blocks) and some museums. Monica was very helpful with suggestions/recommendations about things to do and getting around. Very well maintained brownstone with lots of the 1800's character still there. Very clean, comfortable, and actually... More

My husband and I stayed at The West Townhouse for six nights in October of 2015. The area was perfect - away from the busyness of Time Square. The were plenty of shops, grocery, and restaurants nearby. Monica was wonderful, sweet and full of information. She directed us to some great restaurants within walking distance. We had a lovely suite... More

We stayed for 9 days in the basement level studio apartment which was clean and comfortable albeit closer to street noise and required window shades to be closed for privacy and security thus reducing natural light and ventilation. The hosts lived on site and were very friendly and helpful for tips on local facilities and transport. The location was ideal... More

We fell in love with this place years ago. Have stayed in each of the apartments and just love them all. Apartments are cosy, furnished with style. Hosts are there to help and give good and useful tips for your stay. Our yearly trip to New York would't be "the thing" without this gem. Cute cafes, restaurants and Central Park's... More

We are two older women who booked to stay for 3 weeks. We expected to stay in an apartment and were instead allocated “Studio 1" a week before we arrived. We were not given a choice. The hosts required the rest of the full rental amount to be paid in cash upon our arrival. We were charged US$240 per night... More

We stayed at the West Townhouse the last week of May, having never travelled to New York we did not know what to expect with the accommodation or location, I must say we were pleasantly surprised.
