I have found the perfect place to stay for my visits in New YorK City!!! Located in Chelsea, it is convenient to all of Manhattan with a subway entrance 1/2 block at the corner. The $9 buffet breakfast is more than enough to keep you going through the day, and the cleanliness of everything here is outstanding. This is run... More

We have been going to the Leo House for over 20 years..we love the place. Not the ritz but basic comfort and very friendly staff. They have a beautiful breakfast room...all you can eat for $9. Check website where details are pretty accurate. Central location, great price. What more do you need?

It tuned out to be the best option while staying in NYC given the price and the previous reviews. The location is not bad (close to Penn Station and the subway stop). My single room was small but not in an excessive way; the wifi was OK though not exceptional in terms of its strength. The breakfast (flat fee of... More

Leo House is where i will stay in future in New York for any holiday. When I arrived I was welcomed and shown to a lovely room (804) that had a great view, and was very clean with a huge supply of towels and soap and a great shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. The old style parlour room... More

I stayed here for a week in December. It was easy to find and I only used a cab once and that was when I checked out. I found most places were within walking distance. The staff were nice and the rooms were spotless. I stayed in room 806. Didn't find it noisy & had my own shower & bathroom.... More

OK, the staff was great and we were lucky enough to get an updated room. It was very nice even though we were on 23rd steet in room 804. Comfy beds and great linens. Friends of ours that stayed during the same time had a room that wasn't updated and it certainly needed it. Our room was great with consistent... More

I recently discovered The Leo House and I couldn't be happier. Pros: great price, all areas were very clean, fabulous staff, location (close to blue lines C and E), free wifi Cons: building is old, shower had stains (stains, but was very clean) A great place for a female solo traveler. Must book far in advance.

The hotel offers very nice service for fairly good price, considering that in NYC nothing is exactly cheap. It's very well located, just a few steps from 23rd subway station (lines C and E), and two blocks from line 1 station, not to mention the numerous places to eat (Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, Starbucks, lots of diners and grocery stores, the... 10 minutes walk from Penn station. Old world charm with functional rooms and comfortable bed. Stayed 3 nights without any major issues, if you are really concerned about wifi it will work in lounge area if not in your room. A good central location at a reasonable price.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
