The hotel is located in Chelsea, really close to the subway and lots of nice bars and restaurants (Bare burgers is a most). Walking distance of many attractions too, including Empire State Building and he high line park. Staff are polite and wifi is free throughout, with the added bonus of free access to a computer room. The room are... More

The staff is courteous, efficient and accommodating for travelers. The Leo House is clean, well cared for and a home away from home. The buffet breakfast is served in a warm and friendly room. What makes this special for me is that as a female traveling alone, i feel safe in the regulations that are required. The computer room is quiet... More

We chose a frigid February long weekend to see some theater and visit museums, but the warmth at Leo House made up for the temp outside. Yes, this House is basic, though, actually, I've had smaller rooms elsewhere. The staff is welcoming, the generous breakfast set us up for the day, and the location is superb. We had a large... I don't have much to say about the place other than it works. It is very cheap but the rooms aren't luxuriuos so the you can say the price fits the place. If you are looking for a cheap room in Chelsea, NYC close to the metro and walking distance from the highline, Times Square, Madison sq. garden and the... More

What they cannot change is the small size of the rooms and the shared showers with a fussy water supply. What they can change, they have done well. Wonderful linens on the bed, big fluffy towels, great mattresses, internet available, lovely staff, good price. Some rooms have been renovated, but I am guessing they go to visiting religious people. I... More

My partner and I stayed here for four nights in December and had a fabulous time. The rooms are very basic and we had a shared bathroom but we knew this when we booked and it wasn't an issue for us. We had our own toilet and washbasin and a shared shower next to our bedroom. We didn't have to... More

How can you call yourself a place who worships God and be so greedy & unwilling to help me.I booked a room on bookings.com searched rooms for TWO guests. The last room available at the LEO House for the time frame I was looking for came up. It's on the same street as the Christian Woman's conference my friend and... More

Oh New York - you are SO over-priced, especially when it comes to accommodation...we all know it's true! So, the Leo House provides simple accommodation at a relatively affordable price. Keep your expectations reasonable. You get a room. With a single bed. A tiny desk. Small wardrobe. Maybe some drawers. A TV (but seriously rubbish cable channels). Most rooms are... More

Whilst it is flawed in many ways, I found this hotel a comfort and handy place to stay. The air condition is really nosy at night, but I found the bathroom facilities handy and good to use, and felt the place was very relaxing. Its also in a good spot within the city.

The city is very accessible from here , very helpful staff, and if you're Catholic, morning mass is thrown in! The amenities are basic (but then so is the price, especially for New York City). I'd definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't care for overpriced hotels, and is not looking for luxury

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
